Kaia's POV:

"Good morning Kai." Soap said to me as I made my way to where my space was at the briefing table. Captain Price had informed us that he had some very important news for us.

Gaz, Farah, Soap and even Alex were sitting in their chairs already. Each chair in the briefing room had the name and rank of the person going in it.

The front door opened and Ghost, Price and a blonde woman walked in. She was very beautiful, her blonde hair was in a French braid, she had a little makeup on, her eyes were a light honey color...as she smiled, her smile was like the fucking sun, while two small holes formed in her cheeks.

Who the fuck is she?

"Good morning squad. We have a new member who will be joining us on upcoming missions. Welcome back Seargent Liliana Pavia, who will be in charge of strategic plans." Price said.

I noticed that Farah, Soap, Alex and Gaz were uncomfortable to know about the new member.

But the thing that made me most uncomfortable was...hearing that she was going to be in charge of strategic plans when that's my job.

"With all due respect sir, but - strategic plans is my job, isn't it?" I raised my hand and asked.

I noticed price and Simon's eyes looked at me with a little pity, but I knew why. Sure, how is it going to be my job now that I'm incompetent.

I felt Soap's hand touch mine under the table as if in consolation way. We were all silent waiting for Price's response.

"Given a- because of your accident...we decided it was best that- you had a partner to do the strategic work." Price said but it sounded a little weird.

The blonde girl and Simon hearing what Price had said looked at him, but Ghost only looked at him for two seconds and then back at us, but the girl was confused but at the same time seemed a little annoyed.

"For how long?" Gaz asked this time.

"Pardon?" Price asked him.

"How long will Pavia be with us for?" Gaz asked him again.

"Uh well, Pavia will be with us for a temporary time until Russ can get back to 100% on her job." Price said.

"Great." Farah said but with a sarcastic tone.

"You want to share something with us, Farah?" Price asked because of her sarcasm.

Farah took a breath and gave a small, short smile- "I think everyone here knows what we all think about Pavia. With much respect Liliana, I know you are here listening but at the same time you know that we all here detest you, don't you?" Farah said looking at Pavia very serious.

I didn't know what was going on here. I am very confused.

"Farah Karim, it's always a pleasure to see you again." Pavia told her with a smile.

"Fuck off." Farah replied.

"Girls, we are going to have to change our attitudes. It's for a temporary thing, in the meantime you must start working together." Price told them.

"I won't work with her. Don't you think that's a little cruel?!" Farah said very upset.

"Farah-" Alex tried to calm her down.

"The what?" Price asked her.

"The putting her on here! I mean for God's sake! How can you all even think of putting Pavia to work alongside Kaia?! That's cruel!" Farah said.
