Jenna came back inside to find Nancy angrily marching to the bathroom with a guilty and concerned looking Steve following right behind.
Alrighty then.

Jenna looked around a bit and found Jonathan actually socializing with a girl, as well as Alice being dragged by someone to one of Tina's bedroom. Jenna gave her a thumbs up and Alice winked back to her. Jenna walked over and hung out with Jonathan for a bit until she saw Steve slam the bathroom door behind him as he grabbed a beer and walked out of the house.
"Hey, Jon?" Jenna nudged him, "I don't think Steve's gonna want to give Nance a ride home. Could you get her? I'll get Steve."
"Sure," He responded, confused, as Jenna followed after Steve.

"Steve!" She yelled.
He ignored her as he tried to get in his car to drive off.
"No!" She yelled at him, "I will not allow you to drive off drunk."
"Why the fuck does it matter?" He snapped at her, "It's all bullshit anyways."
"Steve, give me the fucking keys."
"No."
He opened the driver side door, but Jenna immediately slammed it shut.
"I don't know what happened in that bathroom, but I do know that you are pissed off and drunk. No one should be driving like that. So, you have two options: Let me drive you or you can stay here all night."
He stared blankly at her and finally caved, handing her the keys. Both of them got in the car with Steve still sipping on a beer.

"Stop that," Jenna said while taking the beer from him, "Drinking won't solve your problems."
He huffed and started tearing a bit.
"Hey, it's okay," Jenna told him while lightly patting his leg in an attempt to comfort him, "You don't have to talk about what happened but just know, I'm always willing to listen."
He wiped his tears away and started to spill.

"She said everything's bullshit. We killed Barb, Nance and I are apparently just pretending to be in love; she thinks I'm in love with you, but I love her, so I don't know what her fucking problem was."
Jenna sat there soaking in what he'd just said.
I guess all of my hopes have been killed now.

"Just talk it out with her," Jenna advised with a slightly cracking voice, "I'm sure she didn't mean any of it."
"Drunk words are sober thoughts, aren't they? Hey, where are we going? We aren't even near my house!"
"I'm taking you to mine. I always hang out with Dustin after he's done Trick or Treating and I don't want to walk home."
"This isn't gonna help me show Nancy that I'm not in love with you."
"Steve, I get you're upset, but you don't need to take your anger out on me."
She pulled into her driveway, got out, and yoinked Steve in behind her. As she angrily pulled him inside, she heard the trash can start to rattle like it had the night before.
Weird.

She dragged him to her room and threw a pair of his pajamas at him.
"Go change, and the bed's all yours. I'll sleep on the couch."
He looked at her with confusion splayed on his face as she stormed back outside. While she was sitting on the front steps of her house, she saw the head light of Dustin's bike approaching the house.
"Hey, bud!" She yelled to him, "How was Trick or Treating?"
"Great!" He exclaimed, "Max went with us and we got tons of candy."
"Good."
Before Jenna could continue to ask her brother questions, the trash can rattled once again, causing Dustin to cling himself to Jenna's side. She wrapped an arm around him and the two siblings walked over to the trash can.

"Mews?" Dustin called, just like the night prior, "Is that you?"
No response came other than another harsh rattle from the can.
"You look," Dustin whispered.
"No, you look, wimp," She whispered back.
Instead, they both slowly walked over to the can, still semi-hugging each other and both grappled a hold on the lid.
"One," Jenna whispered.
"Two," Dustin continued.
"Three!" They both yelled at the same time and opened the lid to find a slug-like creature hiding underneath.
"Holy sh-"
Dustin quickly captured it in his Ghostbusters contraption that he made as  Jenna just stood there, staring. She didn't like it, not one bit. Her veins got the electrical tingly feeling once again and caused her head to feel like it was erupting. Suddenly, after she finished clenching her fists tightly, the power in the house blew out and the power lines sparked around their house.
Shit...

Jenna regained her composure and the lights all flickered back on.
"What the fuck was that?" Dustin asked her.
"I don't know..." She innocently replied while wiping away some of her runny nose.

The two went inside with Jenna narrowly missing her mother, unlike her unlucky brother who got caught in a conversation with her. Jenna snuck into her bedroom to check on Steve, who just sat on the edge of her bed hugging one of her stuffed animals.
"You're back," He said, quietly.
"Yeah, I am. Take some Ibuprofen, it's right next to you on my night stand."
He looked over and grabbed the bottle. He poured 3 in his hand and threw them back in his mouth. Jenna went over to her bed and grabbed 2 blankets along with a pillow.
"Whoa, Jen," Steve said, "I know you said you were gonna sleep on the couch, but I didn't think you were serious."
"Well, you're being a jackass so, yeah, I'm gonna sleep on the fucking couch."
Jenna walked out with her stuff and went to Dustin's room to check on him and the 'thing'.

"You're feeding it 3 Musketeers!?" She yelled at him as she watched him drop some into his turtle's tank, "AND you evicted Yertle!?"
"It's only temporary!" Dustin defended.
Jenna rolled her eyes and went over to examine the creature. It looked like a slug/pollywog/booger. It started wriggling underneath the heat of the lamp Dustin had overtop the tank.
"Too hot?" Dustin asked and turned off the lamp.
The creature seemed satisfied with the lack of heat and emerged to eat some of the 3 Musketeers.
"Alright, I'm out of here," Jenna said whilst throwing her hands in the air, "Night, Dust."
"Goodnight, Jenna. Oh, how was the party?"
"I don't wanna talk about it."

Jenna started to set up a makeshift bed on her living room couch when Steve came out of hiding from her bedroom and sat next to her.
"Look, I'm sorry for being a drunk jackass," He sighed, "You don't have to sleep on the couch. We've shared a bed how many times? A lot. So, come on, Jen. Let's listen to some radio and fall asleep."
Jenna though about it and gave in.
"But, only because this couch is horrible to sleep on."

Steve smiled at her as they both went back to her bedroom. He turned on her radio, turned out the lights, and hopped in to her bed right next to her. Jenna had fallen asleep quickly, only because Steve was there and she didn't feel the unease she would normally feel when she was byherself. Even though she was still heartbroken with what Steve had said in the car, he was still her comfort person and that would never change. Steve, on the other hand, laid for a little while just watching Jenna sleep. She was fairly calm, for the most part, except on occasion when her face would furrow. At the same time, random electricity surges would hit the house. Besides that, Steve finally had a calm end to his night with his favorite person. He just laid there thinking to himself,
Maybe Nancy was right. Maybe it is all bullshit with her. I thought I loved them both, but maybe it's always just been Jenna. No one else. Just my Jenna.
