"Okay, clear. Come on," Steve guided everyone safely around every corner so they wouldn't get caught. He wouldn't let Jenna lead, so she stayed in the back.
Selfish bitch.
"Okay, that was close," Robin started breathing heavily.
"Too close," Dustin agreed from behind her.
"Relax," Steve tried to calm everyone down, "All right? Relax. Nobody saw..."
As he made his way around the next corner, he was met with a giant open room that had a lot of people walking around in it.
"Hide, idiots!" Jenna pulled a couple arms down with her behind a box, "You can't just stand there and gawk. They would've seen you."
"Red Dawn," Dustin shook his head.
"I saw it," Erica looked Jenna dead in the eyes, "First floor, northwest."
"Saw what?" She asked.
"The comms room," She replied like it should've been obvious.
"You saw the comms room?"
"Correct."
"Are you sure?" Dustin wanted to confirm.
"Positive. The door was open for a second, and I saw a bunch of lights and machines and shit in there."
"That could be a lot of different things," Jenna shook her head, "But we could at least give it a shot, I guess. What's the worst that could happen?"
"All right," Steve whispered, "We're gonna move fast, we're gonna stay low. Okay?"
"Roger that," Jenna saluted.
"Follow me," He signaled and the group slithered and slunk around the Russian base, hiding behind any object they could until they could make it into the room. Right as a man walked out, Jenna ran out in front and grabbed the door before it could close, allowing for everyone else to get inside. Unfortunately for the group, when they all made it into the room, they weren't alone. There was someone working at the control panel and he wasn't too keen on having guests.
He was going to grab either his gun or walkie, but before he could Jenna told him in Russian, "Don't! We're okay."
"Who are you?" He asked.
"Doesn't matter. Don't touch anything. We're not gonna hurt you."
Damn my poor Russian skills.
"Why are you here? I don't understand."
"Oh, fuck it!" She gave up and started talking English again, "Steve, help me out here."
"AHHHHHHHH!" Steve charged at the guy, ramming him into the floor.
The two went back and forth with Jenna finally jumping in and throwing a few punches, but to give Steve his 'hero moment', she didn't interfere too much.
"Steve! Catch!" She grabbed the mic off of the control panel with electricity from her hand and flung it to Steve, who used it to smack the guy in the head and knock him out.
"You did it!" Jenna hugged him, "You won a fight!"
"What the hell just came out of your hand!?" Robin looked at Jenna with wide eyes and her mouth agape.
"Lightning, now let's move on."
"Move on!? You just shot lightning out of your hand, I can't move on!"
Dustin knelt down and grabbed the key card off of the guy's belt.
"What are you doing?" Alice asked him.
"Getting us our ticket out of here," He told her.
"You want to walk all the way back?" Erica scoffed, pissed off.
"Well, we can hang out for a little bit, relax, have a picnic maybe."
"Have a picnic?" Erica yelled, "We came here for the radio."
Robin grabbed Jenna's wrist and pulled her with her up the stairs at one end of the room while Dustin continued arguing with Erica.
"What the fuck is up there?" Jenna muttered.
Her and Robin reached the top, realizing that they'd actually discovered something interesting.
"Guys," Robin raced back down the stairs, "There's something up there."
The group snuck through the door and looked through the windows towards the blue light being emitted.
"Oh, shit," Dustin's face fell.
"Jenna," Steve's voice shook as he whispered in her ear, "I think you were right with your theory."
"I guess so, Harrington. Man, I really wanted to be wrong."
They were all staring at a giant machine that was pumping out such great amounts of energy that it was bursting through the wall in front of it and opening up—what looked to be—another gate. Men were around it in hazmat suits, putting the green vials into it.
We're fucked. We are so fucking fucked!
