"Ugh," Alice griped, "I should've just gotten captured. I think it'd be a better experience than squeezing through these tight-ass vents. I feel like a sausage getting squeezed through a grinder."
"Well, maybe if you didn't have big-ass boobs you'd fit," Erica snapped.
"Hey!" Alice waved her finger at the child, "I can't control them. Maybe you're just really tiny."
"Oh, I am and I know it. I better get more than just free ice cream for putting up with your whiny ass."
"Stop it! That is no way to talk to your elders."
"The only one of you 'elders' that gets my respect is Jenna. You and your old-ass needs to get off its high horse and deal with our situation."

Robin sighed and rolled her eyes at the two. She couldn't believe these were the people she was stuck with.
"I have a suggestion," Dustin piped up, "How about you two shut the hell up. It's sad when Robin and I have to be the responsible and reasonable ones."
"Well, you don't have to deal with boobs getting in your way, Dustin, now do you?" Alice shot back.
"I can't with these guys," Dustin whispered to himself.

"I wonder what's happening to the two parents right now," Robin changed the subject.
"They're probably being beaten to shit," Erica stated, bluntly.
"Or they're having a nice play date with those Russian guards," Alice shrugged trying to think on the bright side.
"No, I think we need to be honest with ourselves," Erica continued, "They're probably half-dead, coughing up blood in some shitty, sterile room."
"I just hope they're together," Dustin joined in, "Jenna can handle herself, but Steve? He's gonna struggle."
"Agreed."
"Totally."
"One hundred percent."

Silence fell over the group as they continued to crawl. Pain started to settle in Robin's legs and she fell behind a bit. Alice caught on and hung back with her.
"Hey," Alice nudged her, "You feelin' the burn too?"
"Yeah, big time now."
"I can't wait to get out of here. I really wanna go to the Fun Fair. I think Jenna and Steve are gonna go, too."
"That sounds so much better than here. And maybe we can force those two lovebirds to finally kiss."
"Oh, you are reading my mind, Buckley! They have so much tension, but refuse to admit anything: even to themselves."
"Exactly!"

"Hey, bitches!" Erica yelled back at them, "We found something so crawl your fat asses here faster!"
"On it, Erica, sir!" Alice saluted back, causing Robin to laugh hysterically.
Erica and Dustin were stopped at a junction with a fan blocking their way. Dustin started to get to work stopping from spinning so they could get through and started to catch Erica up on everything, with Robin keenly listening in too.

"So," Dustin continued to explain, "when we set fire to the hub, we drew the Demodogs away so El could close the gate. But now, for some insane reason, the Russians appear to be trying to reopen it, which just destroys everything we risked our lives for."
"Should I ask questions?" Robin whispered to Alice completely confused.
"No. He'll probably get pissed and say you weren't listening. Just go with it."
"Cool. Staying confused then."

"By 'we'," Erica said, "you're including Lucas?"
"Yes, of course."
"So, all that shit you told me, Lucas was there?"
"Yeah."
"My brother, Lucas Charles Sinclair?"
"Yes!"
"I don't believe you."
"Wait, so you believe everything about El and the gate and the Demodogs and the Mind Flayer, but you question your brother's involvement?"
"That's correct."
"Makes total sense."
"What else do you expect from her, Dustin?" Alice said.
"Shut up, nerd!" Erica snapped back at her.

Dustin started to struggle with the control panel.
"You need help with that?" Erica asked.
"No," Dustin pouted.
"It is taking a while..." Robin shrugged and earned a nod from Alice.
"Exactly," Erica said, "Even Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb-Bitch see it."
"No shit, Sherlock!" Dustin broke.
"All right, so if we don't find a more efficient method to stop these fans, we're never gonna find help, and your 'parents' are mega screwed."
"Stop!" Alice covered her ears, "With your downer attitude they will be screwed. Just pretend they're at a playdate like I said earlier."
She was met with glares from Erica and Dustin.
"Not the time," Robin patted Alice's shoulder.
Alice looked down at her hand and just nodded. She couldn't believe Robin placed her hand on her shoulder.
Why do I feel this way!?
