I sat in the courtyard trying to meditate again. In the background I could hear my friends training like usual, but the sounds were muffled by my own drowsiness. My visions would come sporadically but every time they would morph into that nightmare. It always followed the same pattern: Lionheart speaking with a Grimm, I get surrounded by Grimm, and then Ruby gets... gets killed by Cinder. But I try to wake myself up before I see that, though it doesn't always work.

"Haly?" Ruby said to me.

I opened my eyes to Ruby kneeling in front of me. She looked worried, and I knew it had to do with my nightmares.

"Being exhausted isn't going to help your meditation. Will you come take a nap? With me?" Ruby offered.

I let Ruby help me up off of the ground and start leading me to our room.

"Ruby, I know you're not gonna sleep," I said. "I don't want to keep worrying you with my..."

"No! I don't care! I will hold you for hours if I have to!" Ruby exclaimed.

As we made our way through the campus, we were drawing attention from every one of our friends. We would pass by and I could see each group turn their heads to see Ruby dragging me through the halls. We made it to the door to our room, whereupon Ruby pushed me through it and towards the bed.

"You are so stubb—"

Ruby silenced me with a kiss as she pushed me onto the bed.

"No more talking, just please try to sleep," Ruby pleaded.

Ruby laid down right on top of me, and I was given basically no choice but to lay there. As much as I wanted to keep going with my meditation, she had a point. Dozing off and waking up crying wasn't going to help me with anything. With a sigh of relent I draped an arm around Ruby and closed my eyes. It wasn't long until I final was getting some sleep, and boy was I glad that Ruby made me lie down with her.

- later -

It all hit me in an instant as I laid there with Ruby. The dream began again, but this time it was far different. I was looking through a closet door, into an office I'd seen a hundred times now. The sound of a door opening, shuffling feet, and then the closet door opened, with Lionheart standing in front of me.

"Salem is requesting a report on the boy," said an all too familiar voice.

Cinder?! What the hell is this dream?!

"He's been doing a lot of meditation lately, and his colleagues have mentioned some things about him progressing with his semblance," Lionheart explained.

They're... they're talking about my semblance more than usual? And where am I?

"I can trust you have not tried to help him, have you?" Another voice asked.

A black tentacle floated up poised for Lionheart. That tentacle Grimm?!

"Of course not, rather he avoids me. I suspect it's simply due to his loner attitudes,"  Lionheart said.

There was something so different about this dream. It almost felt too... wait a second...

"Then keep it so, minimize his chances of becoming a true threat. Report any updates," said the second voice.

"Of course," Lionheart shakily responded.

The door closed, and then Lionheart sat down at his desk. This is wasn't one of my dreams!
