Welcome To Haven

It was such a long journey but we had made it at last. The capital of Mistral, and the home of Haven Academy was in sight.

"We've almost made it!" Cheered Nora and Ruby, the latter clinging to my arm.

Ranger had finally been walking on her own the day after she woke up, and even she was glad to be almost done with all the traveling.

"Such a long time since I've been to Haven Academy," sighed Ozpin.

We quickly made our way through the capital and straight to Haven Academy. The town was beautiful, full of life and laughter.

"Isn't this great? Being here in Mistral?" Asked Ruby.

"Yeah, a far cry from Vale," I said.

The Academy sat on the edge of the city, with a beautiful campus that stretched across the northern border of the city. It felt just like before when I arrived at Beacon, walking up to the gates. It better not be how Beacon was. The gates opened, a very illustrious looking man stepping out to greet us.

"Welcome to Haven Academy. My name is Leonardo Lionheart, and I am proud to have some of Beacon's Heroes among my company," greeted the man.

Heroes of Beacon. Yeah right, maybe Ruby and the others, but I wasn't the hero that day.

"I'm glad you got my message Leo. Is everything prepared for all the students?" Asked Qrow.

"Of course. Have we heard from our old friend Ozpin yet?" Asked Leo.

"Ask him yourself," said Qrow.

Oscar stepped forward, with Ozpin taking control.

"Headmaster Lionheart. It's been too long,"

"Indeed. Another time, another face," said Lionheart.

That phrase struck me as a little odd. In fact, Lionheart as a whole struck me as odd. I just couldn't put my finger on why?

"It's about time we get settled in for a while. We've had a long trip," said Ranger.

I looked back at her with an expression that she knew meant: "are you kidding me?" I turned back to start walking into the campus, and my hunch found it's evidence. Lionheart looked at his watch, and then hurriedly left us without another word. He checked behind him as well as though he was watching for someone to follow him. As my friends started entering the campus I stopped Qrow before so I could talk to him.

"We need to keep an eye on Lionheart," I told him.

"Why? Lionheart has been loyal to Ozpin for decades," explained Qrow.

"I don't know, but he's hiding something. And if anybody can tell when someone has a secret, it'd be me," I reasoned.

Qrow couldn't argue with my logic, but he still looked a little skeptical.

"Have I ever made an assumption like this without good reason?" I asked him.

Qrow, shook his head, but walked forward.

"I'll watch him. I hope you're just paranoid kid," said Qrow.

Ruby ran back past Qrow to me and latched onto me.

"Haly! You need to come see your room!" Said Ruby.

I laughed as Ruby jumped off of me for a second, but I could see it on her face that she wanted something else. Rather than any words, I picked Ruby up in my arms and let her muzzle into my shoulder.

"I missed that," I said.

"So did I," swooned Ruby.

I carried Ruby into the campus, as someone led us to my dorm room. Ruby got off of me for a minute so I could open the door, and when I did it continued to remind me of Beacon.
