Rook's POV:

A few weeks had passed us by since New Year's, and Devyn and I were in bliss. It seemed that after our... exploration, over Christmas, we couldn't keep our hands off one another - only, we'd lost time together, with Devyn having an episode. I didn't mind, though; it meant we took the time to catch up after New Years, spending a few days in bed, just the two of us. It was our escape from our crazy reality.

The boys and I had started putting in the hours in the studio, writing songs for the new album. We'd already released "Bad Things" to set the tone of the album, and we were making a few more songs, and finishing everything else off to get it ready for release.

During that time, I didn't get to see Dev as often as we'd have liked, so those days spent alone in bed were important to us. Not only was I busy, though. She'd started the lengthy process of training Luna - with her hands being bitten more often than not. But she also always seemed to be off running her own errands. What she was doing, she wouldn't tell me. But it seemed to keep her busy and happy, which I wasn't going to get in the way of.

We'd finished a studio session pretty early one Friday mid January, meaning I could go upstairs and find Devyn in my bed, and cuddle up to her for as long as I liked to. I walked up to my bedroom with intent, and opened the door with a smile, but the bed was empty. My smile immediately dropped, and I spun on my heels to check the rest of the house. Devyn wasn't here.

My heart sank when I couldn't find her, and I collapsed onto the couch with a frown and a deflated sigh, deciding to scroll through my phone to pass the time as I waited for her. The others were all off doing their own thing somewhere else, with the intention of giving Devyn and I alone time (not that we cared if they were still in the house), but it seemed that there was no need, and I now I was pretty alone in the scarily silent house.

Luna and Chapo kept me company on the couch, and I even took them outside in the yard for a little while. I was trying to help Devyn with training Luna as often as I could, and decided to potty train her. It was a struggle, but we were both learning; Pops had been the one to properly train Chapo, so it was all fairly new to me too.

I sat on the grass with Chapo wandering around and sniffing. Luna was running around me in circles, causing me to laugh as I took a video of her to send to Devyn (like the proud parents we are, we send each other photos and videos of the dogs throughout the day), before playing with her for a little while. She was going crazy; having recently found her voice, it seemed that all she did was yap at everything in sight. But it was adorable.

Potty training wasn't going very well, though. As I sat on the grass with her and tried to get her to piss, she'd taken more interest on chewing on my shoelaces or tumbling over in the grass than actually doing a wee. And she was still having accidents in the house, occasionally missing the puppy pad. But I'd tell her that she tried her best, and would cuddle her close nevertheless - even if she tried to fucking bite my nose every time I held her close. She was a menace, but she was definitely mine and Dev's dog.

It was about four o'clock when the front door finally opened again. Both the dogs and myself lifted our heads from the floor to look over at who it was, then ran over when we saw that it was Devyn. She burst out into her usual melodic laughter and greeted us in the hallway, dropping to her knees to fuss the dogs, before standing up to pull me in for a hug and a kiss. "Can ya tell we missed ya?" I raised an eyebrow, causing her to laugh.

"Oh, you guys are so cute!" She sighed in content. "Now where are the guys? I need'a show you all somethin'." Devyn had only been through the door for all of two minutes and she was already looking for the others. Rude, if you ask me.
