Two hands on the phone, kids. It's gonna get spicy...
And it's an extra long one. Enjoy ;)

Rook's POV:

After a painfully long walk home (in the dark) with two wasted parents and a little brother out to get me with snowballs, we were finally in the warmth and comfort if my childhood home - away from the rowdy kids and boozy adults. Once my parents were down for the night, I'd quickly shot my friend from school a text to bring Devyn's final present round, before following the girl in question upstairs to shower.

"You look so fucking hot." My hands instinctively dropped to Devyn's waist as my chest pushed up against her back, my breath skimming the column of her neck. I felt her body become rigid for a split second, before sinking back into my body, grabbing my hands to wind my arms tighter around her bare stomach.

She was wearing her new black Calvin Klein underwear set that Maegan had bought her for Christmas, the boy shorts somehow managing to further emphasise the endless length of her legs. Her skin was still warm from her blistering-hot shower, and smelled of the vanilla and raspberry shower gel she'd snuck onto my shelf in the bathroom. Her coconut-scented brunette hair was tangled over her shoulder from carelessly towel-drying it just moments before. She was just how I liked. Completely, and unapologetically, natural.

"Says you." Her quiet, melodic laugh broke the silence of my bedroom as she turned in my hold to give me a once-over. I was in a similar way, wearing just my black boxers and a silver chain around my neck - the one that Devyn had gifted me that very morning as she sat on my lap, where she was meant to be.
"Stay here a minute, I jus' need'a check somethin' downstairs." I gently pressed my lips to her forehead, feeling her eyelashes flutter against my jaw, before turning to head downstairs.

Truth is, I met my friend on my doorstep and took Devyn's last Christmas present from him with a grateful smile and a wad of money - he was running my errands in the very early hours of Boxing Day, after all. I just knew she'd love it, though. And with that, I quietly walked back into my room with a gentle, but proud, smile.

I found Devyn snuggled up in my bed, hidden under the white covers and the mountains of blankets and pillows she'd insisted on 'decorating' my bed with. I always argued that they were more hassle than they were worth, but she'd insisted, and I couldn't argue with that. I could only see her head peeking out of the covers as she looked at me with that cheeky grin which would never fail to make me crumble to her feet.

She had the warm, colorful lights on the little, plastic, poor excuse of a Christmas tree which stood unforgivably proud on my chest of drawers. The fairy lights around my headboard (another addition all thanks to Devyn) were also on, providing a warm glow in the otherwise dark bedroom. Just the sight of her in the golden glow made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside - not that I'd ever admit that out loud.

"Merry Christmas, my love." I spoke quietly as I sat on the edge of the bed, Devyn finally spotting the pink bundle of a blanket in my arms. She instantly gasped and bolted upright, her eyes wide as saucers, and a squeal eventually escaping.

"Meet your new pup, darl'n." I whispered as I set the soft blanket in her lap, on top of the covers. She pulled the corner back to reveal the little black Staffordshire Bull Terrier I'd picked out for her, quietly squealing as she picked it up to shower it with love. It was black with a white stripe up its nose, a white chest, and one white paw. It stood out to me the most out of the litter. Much like Devyn, I guess.

"This is mine?" Dev looked up at me with big, almost Disney-Princess-like eyes, a shadow of doubt lingering within the depths of the sea of blue. For a moment, she looked like the thirteen-year-old Devyn I'd taken out on a date to milkshakes. The girl that I'd never fallen out of love with.
"All yours, darl'. An' she's comin' home to Cleveland with us." I promised.
