Rook's POV:
Waking up next to Devyn always felt like a dream I refused to wake up from. Seeing the gentle flutter of her full lashes; the pink hue to her soft cheeks; the gentle slope of her button nose; her lightly parted, smooth, bow-like lips...
God, every inch of her was perfection. And I could stare at her for an eternity.
"Whatchu starin' at?" Devyn let out a croaky laugh as she peeled her sleep-heavy eyelids open. She reached up to rub at her face, trying to rid herself of grogginess, then broke into a hazy smile.
"My gorgeous girl." I smirked, then leaned across to press a kiss to the soft, velvet skin of her neck. "Love you."
Devyn let out a squeal when my teeth grazed the length of her neck, making me lowly chuckle and pull away to see her breathtaking smile. "Love you too, dickhead." She giggled, and her eyes slipped closed as she ever so adorably yawned.
"C'mon, time to get up." I climbed out of bed and pulled a fresh pair of boxers on, watching over my shoulder as Devyn pouted.
"I don' wanna." She mumbled through pursed lips.I laughed and gently tugged on her arm, before letting out an exasperated sigh and dropping to the edge of the bed. "Well, you're gonna have to get up if you wanna check out the studio, and get everythin' ready for this tortoise you've bought."
Devyn's crystal blue eyes instantly lit up, and she shot out of bed and made a run to the bathroom. I laughed and followed her in, knowing the only way to get her truly awake in the morning was to shower together.
Of course, as soon as we were both in the shower, completely naked and vulnerable, her hands were all over my body. She was unintentionally trying her hardest to distract me from the day's plans. But I knew she'd regret it if we ran out of time to do all that we needed to do today.
"Hey, if you're good," I began, and grabbed her hands to prevent them from wandering any lower than my navel. "If you're good, I'll let you do whatever you want later, yeah? When we've done everythin' we need to do today, then I'll let you do whatever you want."
I promised her as I looked deep into her doe eyes and bound her eager hands between mine. "Anything?" She asked in a quiet, almost child-like voice.
"Anything." I whispered and pressed a kiss to her forehead."Be a good girl for me, yeah?" Devyn slowly nodded, then turned to let me shampoo her hair as she washed her own body. She let me wash my own body, but insisted on washing my hair. That I could let her do.
We decided to have breakfast out, so loaded the dogs into the car once we were ready, and headed to an outdoor restaurant a bit further into Sherman Oaks. The dogs laid peacefully under the table as I ate a breakfast burrito and Devyn had pancakes, eggs and bacon.
We did end up buying the dogs their own bowl of fruit and yogurt to share, as a treat for being good. Though, we ended up having to split them up into separate bowls at separate ends of the table; Luna kept trying to eat Chapo's portion, as usual. She was a beast.
Once breakfast was done with, we climbed back into the car and I directed Devyn towards her new tattoo studio. The roads of LA were busy as usual, giving us plenty of time to sing our hearts out to the radio, providing us with bouts of eyewatering laughter. But it thankfully didn't take us too long to get there, so we knew it would be doable for Devyn to travel there for work.
We parked up on the street out front, and I watched a big smile spread onto Devyn's lips as she looked up at her new tattoo studio. It was a bigger building, that stood above a local barbers, on a nice, quieter side-road off the main road.
