Little Jaehaerys was wrapped and placed on a chariot. Veils covered alicent and helaenas faces the horses wore their decorative armor and the knights lined up. Helaena clung to her mother sobbing still as their open top carriage rode them forward for the ceremony. Helaena had not wanted children at first but she loved them. Alicent was right she might never love aegon completely but her children she loved.
Aegon's face was that was tears and regret, he was the king celebrating when his family needed him. Aemond and Daeron rode beside their grandsire, Teo didnt feel strong enough to sit so proud on a horse when all he wanted to do was weep.
"I want her back daddy, I want her back." Lucia begged. "Bring her back!"
"I wish I could." Larys whimpered. "More than anything I wish I could.''
"She told me to run, mother, I should not have run. He said he would hurt auntie Blyana but she told me to run and I ran." Helaena whimpered.
"This is not your fault, your aunt would... have been a mess if you got hurt and she could have prevented it." Alicent assured. She glanced back at her father. She had never seen him so depressed. Maybe once, when mother died but even then, ALicent didnt think his heart broke this much as having to say farewell to his daughter. Alicent didnt think Otto would be able to recover from this. Larys and the children either.
"Father..." Bellamy whispered holding onto his hand.
"I'm so sorry. I am so sorry." larys kept repeating, he wanted Blyana back, he wanted to trade positions with her, he loved her and the children needed her the world needed Blyana more than the world needed him, he was sure of it yet why was it that the Gods stole Blyana away?
There were few teary eyes for the king but for Blyana and little prince Jaehaerys there wasnt a dry eye at the funeral procession.
"Bring her back, daddy, bring her back." Lucia kept begging. "Bring mommy back!" she sobbed out. "I need her."
"I need her too." Larys whispered wiping at his eyes only for more tears to come spilling down in a never ending waterfall of pain.
"She didnt deserve this." Teo whispered. "It's Daemon that should be dead not mum."
"There's something special about being loved unconditionally... despite our mistakes, flaws, and shortcomings. That's the kind of love that I always hoped for but wasn't sure I deserved." Larys remarked softly. "Until I met your mother. She showed me I was worth love and..." Tears flooded his face, she couldnt be gone.
