Song for this chapter: Again by Sasha Alex Sloan
I stared out the window of the car, watching the city go by, refusing to look at the man in the backseat with me. I was smashed right up against my door, trying to leave as much space as possible between Tae and me.
He sat on the other side of the car, legs spread wide, typing away on his phone. It was sinful how handsome he looked when he was irritated with me. His dark hair was pushed back off his face and his shirt sleeves were shoved up his arms. He looked oh so casual but hot as fuck.
I took some deep breaths to calm my racing heart. I didn't expect him to be so angry with me. And I really didn't expect to be so turned on by him either.
After he had shown up outside my apartment, he grabbed my arm and hauled me to the car, ordering me to get in. Lyle had just stood there in shock, mouth agape at the Kim Taehyung. I couldn't really blame him though.
Penny, to her credit, lurched forward and yelled at Tae, demanding to know where he was taking me. I tried to subtly shake my head at her, letting her know it was okay, but Tae had already whipped around to answer her.
"She's going back to our place, so she can be close to her soulmate. I'm trying to keep her alive," he snarled softly.
Penny snorted indignantly, but Tae wasn't done.
"You think this is funny? I'm not exaggerating. I bet she hasn't told you that she's had some pretty severe episodes lately. Has she told you that she can't be apart from her soulmate for too long or she'll be in excruciating pain? Did she tell you that? No? What about the fact that she left without telling anyone where she was going? AND she had no way of contacting her soulmate or getting back into our apartment! NO? What about the fact that she didn't answer any of my texts or calls for HOURS?!" He wasn't outright yelling, but he was pretty close.
The only time I had seen him like this was when he was performing an intense song in concert. But that was a performance. This was real.
I flinched as I saw Lyle stumble backwards from Tae. Penny bared her teeth at Tae but turned an accusing eye to me. I gulped and looked back at her with soft, apologetic eyes. She narrowed her gaze at me but some of her fire was banked.
I did tell them that I needed close contact with Yoongi but not to the extent that I was in a lot of pain without him. Sigh. They were never going to let me hear the end of it.
Penny flung a finger towards me.
"You! I'm very disappointed in you! Take better care of yourself. And don't you dare keep anything else from us," she admonished me, before swinging back around towards Tae.
"And YOU! Don't be a dick. I don't care how famous you are, don't even breathe wrong towards Sabrina or I will find you," she growled.
Lyle gasped and leaped forward to grab her arm. "Ah, ahem. Yes, well. We should get going. Sabrina, please text us!" He called out as he hauled Penny back from us and up the sidewalk.
Tae crossed his arms and watched them walk away. He didn't look at me as he reached for my bags and tossed them into the car before sliding in next to me and slamming the door. I could feel the waves of anger radiating off of him. We didn't look at one another as the driver pulled away from the curb and began the journey back to the dorm. I wanted to argue with him about his behavior but at the moment I was too afraid to poke the angry bear next to me.
So, I plastered myself to the side of the door and watched the city go by in silence. The closer we got to the dorm, the angrier I became. Why the hell did Tae show up and drag me off like that? I was allowed to live my life, damnit! Tae wasn't my soulmate. He wasn't even my boyfriend. What gave him the right to order me around and pull me away from my friends?
