This is how it all begins...
I ran into the house, a smile on my face. I had just gotten A+ in all subjects for the fourth time in a year. I happily ran in hoping my mom would be happy seeing it.
But instead, she hugged my older brother and praised him for getting A+ in all his fifteen /sixteen subjects for the first time. I stood there like a statue while she ignored me totally.
I didn't exist for her. I didn't realize when everybody had left the sitting room. Leaving me standing like a fool.
Tears welled up in my eyes, as I dragged my feet to my room. Down in the attic, away from everyone. I cuddled up, letting the tears fall once I had locked the doors. I shook uncontrollably.
'It's only for now, you would finish your studies soon.' I tried to assure myself, but felt more miserable instead. I took my shower, and cleaned up my room. The attic which was now my room looked more beautiful... I was the owner after all.
I let the rays of the sun seep in, while I freshened up and changed. I came back reading when I heard my dad's car horn. I became excited, and ran out the attic(my room) and straight to the front door. Opening the gates for him to enter. I stretched my hands to envelope him in a hug... but when he got out.
He began walking towards me, arms stretched out a big bright smile on his face. I heard my younger yelp with joy. "dad!" She cried out. My dad ran faster towards me, smile broad, I waited smiling brighter. Then he did it, he ran past me and hugged Layla instead.
My smile fell to a frown, as my hands slowly lowered. He was hugging both my sisters and brother happily. Totally ignoring me. Tears welled up in my eyes, but I controlled myself. Just standing there like an outcast, before walking back to my room. Head down.
Three years later...
I made my way to the main lecture hall. My black hair swishing to the side as I walked. I arrived just before the lecturer could begin.
Walked in with mask on, books in arms and arms in front of chest. Cyan blue eyes lowered to the floor as I made my way to a seat.
It looked isolated and lonely, but it was perfect as far as I never got into trouble. 'Fine by me' I thought before the lecturer's voice brought me back.
"we have a new student in our midst today, please ensure your maximum best that you help him out."
I blinked, and then the new student came in. He had worn blue jeans. white mixed with black snickers, a red shirt. A sparkling golden chained watch with silver hair and blue eyes. And; a bag slung over a shoulder.
After his introduction the lecturer gave him a sign to go have a seat. Soon all the girls started losing it. They tried to sedducingly persuade him to seat with them, some tried pulling him. But instead, he walked past them all and up to me then he said; "anyone seating here?" his voice was deep yet calm and yet soothing.
Not trusting my words, due to the state of shock I was in I hurriedly nodded no. Why me of all people did he choose to seat with? I thought, I didn't finish my train of thoughts as he smoothly sits beside me. And I try my level best to ignore the daggers the ladies were shooting in my direction. But for some reason, I finally felt somewhat significant
