I find myself seated in a hospital, waiting anxiously for the doctor to arrive hopefully with pleasant news.

I remained there, breathing in and out. Just trying my best to calm down.

How did this happen? Layla wasn't the kind of person who could sacrifice herself for anyone. So what was she up to this time?

The sound of the ICU door open snaps me to reality. I turn my head and find the doctor walking out the room with a mask over his face and a setoscope around his neck.

I get to my feet, but before I can reach the doctor; Ethan does.

"doctor... how is she?" He asks.

The doctor pulls the mask down just as I reach them.

"She's fine but still unconscious for the moment." he says calm enough for us to handle.

"will she wake up soon?" Ethan asks, before I can attempt to speak.

Why is he so worried about her?

"yes," he says.

"can I see her?" I ask before Ethan could interrupt me any further.

"Yes you can, but not for long." The doctor says. I nod with a smile on my face, with a silent thanks I make my way to the room.

But something stops me.

"Are you related to her?" Ethan asks with a silently rude tone. By now, the doctor had excused himself.

I turn to look at him, then my hand which was still in his clutches. I lift my head to look at him once more, but this time in the eyes.

"yes. Does it bother you?" I say, he blinks and pulls away like someone who was confused or something.

"I'm sorry..." He starts, "keep it to yourself. What's your problem anyway? Why are you so protective of her anyway?" I ask, obviously pissed already.

I don't give him a chance to reply before I walk away and head for Layla's room.

On getting in, I shut the door behind me. And stare down at the sleeping Layla beside me.

"There's no one here sister, You can end your charade now." I say with my arms crossed.

A slow sly smile makes its way to her face, and she sits up slowly like an awakening dead body.

She turns to me with her head tilted and her eyes wide open. She looked perfectly fine.

"you know me too well, sister." she says with a smile.
