"That's it. Next time we hang out, I'm gonna teach you how to jump!" Mimi promises as they leave the basketball court.
"How about we finish up this time first?" Mr. L counters. "Thirsty?"
"Yes please!" She replies. "Smoothie time!"
"Why aren't they here yet?" Mario asks worriedly as they all stand outside to wait.
"They promised they would come." Peach tries to reassure.
"Let's just hope they're the aid we've been waiting for."
"I'm going to be exactly what they've been waiting for." Wario promises as the Mushroom Kingdom comes into view. "They'll never know what hit them."
"So, remember those muffins I made the first time you came to Boo Woods?" Mr. L says now as they sit at the juice bar.
"You mean the ones you devoured whole and dropped on the floor, thinking that was an eye for an eye?" Mimi fires back playfully.
"They were so good, I would've sworn I made more in my sleep." Mr. L says. "But that's just my backwards way of thanking you for being such a good sport. I had fun. Sorry I ruined it with a rain check."
"Are you kidding?" Mimi protests. "You were hiding from your brother, who's working day and night to help repair what we did to the Sammer Kingdom. Heck I fought him right before the void sucked everything away."
"Well the good news is my brother no longer has anything to do with me." Mr. L assures, then looks at the juice bar's menu. "However, that still leaves the question on what I'm supposed to do for coins."
"Don't worry, I got it." Mimi's not bothered by it, but Mr. L clearly is.
"I appreciate that, but I really don't want this to keep happening. I sold my half of my company for free, and apparently I haven't worked anywhere else in years."
"Have you thought about it at all?" Mimi asks.
"Honestly? No." He's not lying, either.
"You're a genius in engineering." Mimi recalls. " Why not do something like fixing people's Go-Karts?"
Mr. L laughs and shakes his head. "I'm pretty sure that's another memory loss side effect."
"Oh yeah? From what I've seen, that wasn't a skill you showed off until after you joined Bleck. You built not one but two robots out of scrap metal, which held up pretty well until Mario destroyed them."
"I did, didn't I?" Mr. L nods.
"Absolutely. Even if you did remember everything, there's no way you wouldn't have added it to your resume."
"But seriously." Mr. L brings it back. "Who's going to feel sorry enough to hire me?"
"What makes you say that?" Mimi doesn't understand at all.
"Everyone in the kingdom knows my brother." Mr. L says simply.
"Now you're sure you know the plan?" Bowser asks one more time as they finally reach the outskirts of Toad Town.
"Don't you think we've kept them waiting long enough?" Wario snaps.
"True." Bowser growls.
"True. He probably has his own Go-Kart there too." Mimi agrees. "But so do you! And once you show them what you can do, there's no way they can say no."
"You want me to piggyback on my brother's fame?" Mr. L asks. "Like how you used Bleck's power to try and stop the heroes, and still lost?"
"Hey, I lasted a lot longer than I would've otherwise." Mimi defends. "And you lasted longer than me, without Bleck's power. They'd be idiots to not think about that."
