MARIOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"Oh my stars!" Mr. L gushes in Mimi's dressing room, getting a look at Mimi in her wedding dress. "You look fantastic!" and pulls her in for a hug.

Mario picks up the photo again, the same one he was looking at before, and thinks back to when it was taken.

Actually, it's not a photo at all, it's a screengrab from their commercial, one he had framed so he'd never forget how it's what got him up off the floor to go face Bowser.

Without warning, the flashback starts.

"Mamma mia!"

"That's why the Super-Super Mario Brothers are here! To save-a Brooklyn!"

The footage keeps playing without the audio, showing Mario talking as he wraps an arm around Luigi, along with Luigi stealing a glance at Mario right before the TV finally dies.

A tear falls onto the picture frame right over their faces as Mario just stares at it, not moving.

The wedding is a thing of beauty.

Mr. L has no idea who Mimi hired to put it all together, but whoever it was outdid themselves.

Not one flower is out of place, not one decoration is even remotely tacky as the ceremony begins.

Mr. L watches all the bridesmaids and groomsmen come down the aisle, until finally, the moment everyone's been waiting for.

All heads turn as the bridal chorus plays, and there she is.

The groom looks as if he's about to burst into tears as Mr. L walks her down the aisle, and when Mr. L finally lets her go, Mimi's just as teary eyed as she whispers to her soon-to-be husband, while Mr. L stands off to the side, a proud smile on his face.

Mario walks with the photo still in hand, and another flashback hits him.

The scream pierces through the air as Mario flies, and he speeds right towards it, not even thinking of not making it in time as he snatches the falling body out of the air.

It takes the green twin a second, but eventually once he realizes he's not about to die, he  gasps, then grabs on with his other hand, and looks up.

"Lu!" Mario says, somehow finding his voice.

Luigi's eyes light up almost instantly. "Mario?!?!?!?!", as Mario flies twice as fast to somersault so he can get them back on solid ground.

It hurts so much, Mario can't stand it for another second, so he puts the frame in his pocket, and leaves the house.

"The bride has requested for her man of honor, Mr. L, to say a few words." The minister says eventually.

Everyone turns to him, so Mr. L nods, and comes up to the podium, while Mimi and her groom step aside.

"I was going to try my hand at writing something, but I thought speaking from the heart would be more fitting to our friendship." Mr. L explains, takes a breath, and begins.

"Not too long ago, I felt more like a tourist than a real person with a family. People would tell me they were my friends, or that they loved me, and that I loved them right back, but it felt like they were describing a doppelgänger. But if I've learned anything..." Now he looks out at the crowd, stopping on Peach to put himself at ease. "It's that love demands to be felt. And that is the love I see every time Mimi talks about her groom. What we're all gathered here for isn't for a love born on a whim, it found them like an old friend they've always known, and one that will never let them pass it by again, now and forever. So in a sense, what I'm saying is love..." he takes a breath. "Love goes deeper than anyone will ever know. No words will ever come close to defining it, in all its forms."
