"What did you say to him?" Sebastian questioned as he followed Lucy to the entrance they had once come through. Lucy kept her mouth shut as she ventured on. It was like hell going through what they just did. They fought enough spiders to last a lifetime.

Lucy limped as she walked, a spider fang pierced deep into her skin. Her cloak had tears throughout it.

"Lucy, what did you say?" Sebastian ran forward, attempting to catch up with.

"We simply made a compromise." Lucy spoke as she saw the light, leading outside the cave.

She heard Sebastian scoff from behind her, "Ominis simply needs a moment with you and he'll change his mind. Is that it?" His voice was slightly harsh.

"Maybe you just don't say the right words, Sebastian. I just told him we ought to give you this chance- that the relic is too important to ignore. So why don't you say thank you instead of complaining about it or we can turn right around."

"There has to be more to it than that. Tell me." Sebastian's voice softened slightly.

"We agreed on what was needed, Sebastian. You have my word." Lucy said as she walked out of the catacombs. Sebastian had finally sent her a letter, telling her about a relic he read about in the spellbook.

Sebastian let out another sigh as he followed her out, "Thank you."

She rested against the pile of rocks near the entrance of the tomb, pulling out a wiggenweld potion. She drank the vile tasting liquid, wincing as her external injuries began to heal.

"Are you alright?" Sebastian took a step closer to her, watching as the wound sealed itself.

"Just fine." Lucy shrugged him off, looking away from him.

"Why are you so cold with me?" Sebastian had put the relic they had searched so hard for away, kneeling before her, checking her wounds.

"We haven't spoken in almost three weeks, Sebastian. It felt like you were shutting me out. Even Ominis spoke to me more than you." Lucy shook her head, still not looking his way.

"You also shut me out for weeks, remember? After our troll encounter." Sebastian raised an eyebrow, trying to lighten the mood. He carefully checked her knee, making sure there were no other marks.

"Ah, but even then I didn't ignore your owls." Lucy crossed her arms.

Sebastian's eyes widened in realization and his face fell, "The match... I missed it. Damn it, I'm so sorry. I was going to go, honest. I just got lost in the spellbook and trying to help Anne."

Lucy sighed, "I know." She shook her head, moving off the rock, stepping away from him.

"Lucy, wait." Sebastian gently grabbed her arm, spinning her back to him, "I truly am sorry. I promise I will be at the next one. I'll do my best to make it up to you, truly. I have been getting wrapped up in the spellbook. I know it's no excuse, but it just seems to suck me in. I won't let it happen again."

Lucy let out a sigh, "You know, Sallow. One of the things I hate is that I can't stay mad at you." Lucy rolled her eyes, finally looking at him with a smirk on her face. His eyes held actual sorrow in them, showing he was upset for letting her down.

"I mean it, Lucy. I'll make it up to you. I'll be by your side. I promise." Sebastian looked her in the eyes.

Lucy's smirk slowly faded, realizing how serious he actually was. She couldn't find her words and only nodded in return.

"Come with me to Feldcroft. We can visit Anne and show her the relic. Maybe the three of us can hang out for a bit, yeah?" Sebastian suggested, hope in his eyes.
