"Better be... Gryffindor!" The sorting hat bellowed throughout the dining hall. Jess sheepishly rose from the stool, rushing over to the Gryffindor side.
Hermione was kind enough to talk to Professor Mcgonagall, the headmistress of Hogwarts, about getting Jess sorted, since it was her first time at Hogwarts.
There was a small speech given after Jess and all the first years were sorted before the feast began. Lucy immediately rose to her feet, running over to Jess. The two met halfway, "I can't believe you're in Gryffindor." She giggled softly.
"Does this mean we're sworn enemies?" Jess giggled, raising an eyebrow. Lucy only giggled in response as the two boys walked up behind them.
"This castle is massive. It's slightly different but the overall feel is the same." Sebastian chuckled softly.
"You're just so impatient." Lucy rolled her eyes. Sebastian wanted to explore the castle right away, and snuck off to do so. Ominis, being the loyal friend that he is, went with him to make sure he stayed out of trouble.
"Ah, but you love me." Sebastian winked, putting his arm around her.
"Alright lovebirds, as much as I'd like to stick around and see Hogwarts, I think it's time we head to your time." Jess shook her head with a slight smile on her face.
"I agree. The longer we stay here, the more we may want to stay. And I have Moyra waiting for me to get home." Ominis held his wand in his hand, as usual.
"Who's Moyra?" Jess's face scrunched in confusion.
"Don't be jealous, it's his cat." Sebastian steered Lucy away from the two, walking out of the dining hall.
"Jealous?" Jess scoffed, cheeks turning red as she quickly followed them out, "I am not jealous."
"Leaving already?" Hermione interjected, stepping closer to the group. A sad smile was placed on her lips. Her long, curly hair was pulled back, resting against behind her.
"We think it's best if we go back now. The longer we stay, the more we may be tempted not to leave." Lucy smiled, "Plus I managed to travel there the first time based on a fluke. I hope it will be as easy, but who knows."
"Well, I suppose this is the last time I see you." Hermione held a sad smile on her face. It looked as if she was saying goodbye to some close friends.
"Are you okay?" Jess tilted her head, confusion lacing her features.
"Oh, please. Don't worry." Hermione waved her head, "If you are going to go, it is best to go now before the students head to their common rooms for the night."
"Thank you so much for everything Hermione." Lucy placed her hand on top of Hermione's clasped ones.
"No, thank you." Hermione's smile took up her face, "It was lovely to meet you."
"We loved to meet you as well." Lucy gently let go of her hand, taking a step back to join her friends. Her heart jumped, feeling Sebastian take her hand, intertwining them together.
Lucy couldn't help but smile at him as the four of them huddled in a close circle. Jess wrapped her arm around Lucy's free one and held onto Ominis with her other hand. Lucy sent one last smile at Hermione before twisting the small dial on the necklace.
They felt the dizzy feeling take hold, disorienting them slightly. Everything moved at such a fast pace as they traveled through time.
Lucy held her head in pain as everything came to a stop.
"Avada Kedavra!" A voice shouted. Lucy's eyes shot open hearing the all too familiar spell. A flash of green narrowly avoided them, shooting right past. Lucy followed watching as it hit a young girl in a Hogwarts uniform causing her to fall to the ground, dead. All the color immediately vanished from her face as her eyes stared off into the distance.
"Move!" Lucy shouted, pushing them towards a wall that could shield them from whoever shot that girl.
Everything was dark as they hid around the corner of the empty hallway. Hogwarts wasn't like it used to be. The once lively hallways were covered in rubble and debris.
"What in Merlin is going on?!" Ominis's voice shook. The grip on his wand was tight enough to turn his knuckles white. His hands shook lightly, most likely from the dark curse he just heard.
"Where the hell did we go?!" Sebastian gripped his own hair at the sudden rush of death.
"I'm guessing we didn't go back far enough." Jess gripped her wand, peaking around the corner.
"What the fuck are you talking about!?" Lucy tucked her necklace under her shirt, pulling her wand out as well.
"You took us back, but not to your time. This is the entire reason my mother didn't send me to Hogwarts. You sent us back to the battle against Voldemort."
