I wake up to someone knocking on the door. "Knock knock!" The person shouts, and I look over to the other side of me and see Evelyn fast asleep, cuddling up to me. "Who is it?" I shouted, trying to be as quiet as I could, but it didn't really work, as i see Evelyn's eyes shoot open.

"Its Mandi!" The person on the other side of the door says I have no idea who Mandi is; I've never heard of her. I look down at Evelyn to see her staring up at me. "Who the hell is Mandi?" I ask.

"Delilahs assistant, Wrong room, Mandi!" She shouts. Mandi goes quite quiet, so I assume she has walked away, so I wrap an arm around Evelyn, and she starts to drift back to sleep. "No, it's not! Miss Montgomery sent me to get Willow ready for the masquerade ball tonight!" She yells, I sigh, and Evelyn's eyes open back up.

"Ha, good luck! I'm going back to sleep!" Evelyn laughs and rolls over. I climb out of bed and walk over to the door, opening it for Mandi. "Hi, are you ready to get all glammed up?" She smiles. She had dark brown hair and brown eyes; her hair was about shoulder length, and she looked around 25.

"Is it not too early for that? It's 10 a.m. and the party isn't till 7?" I smile. She starts hysterically laughing, and I just stand there awkwardly. Suddenly, she stops laughing and stares at me worryingly. "Oh dear god, are you serious?" She mumbles and sighs. "Come into the bathroom; we have a long way to go." She smiles and starts walking into the bathroom. I'm not sure if to be offended or not.

*few hour time skip*

A plucked chicken—that was the only way to describe how I felt. I had been waxed, tweezed, and lotioned up on every inch of my body. Mandi was a major chatterbox; she kept up an endless stream of conversation that I never had to actually reply to. It gave me plenty of time to ruminate on the night ahead of me. A night usually reserved for charity and those in need turned into a garish circus for the rich elite. One I had never pictured myself attending.

My idea of fancy was buying a hundred-pound prom dress with my dad cheering me on and then puking on it because I drank a few too many cheap shots at the afterparty. Sure, my dad shook his head and gave me the look, but at least I had someone on my side. Now I was a one-woman soldier up against an army of the finest-dressed rich people in the world.

"Goodness me, you are a girl with your head in the clouds." Mandi laughs. I snapped back into reality and quickly answered her, "I'm so sorry, what were you saying?" I ask. She is now standing up and walking over to the closet in the corner of the bathroom. "I was saying that I brought you three options to wear; I'm not quite sure what your style is, so they are all a little different." She smiles and grabs three dresses from the closet.

"Meh, I'm not that picky with my clothes anyway." I laugh. "They all say that!" She laughs and sighs. The three outfits she picked were honestly beautiful; option one was a short, dark green lace dress. Option 2 was a longer dress with puff sleeves and a flowy bottom; it was dark green with gold accents. And the last option was a long, even more flowing dress with a dark green top and a sage green bottom; it also had green accents.

Me and Evelyn had decided we were going to match colours, and our colour was going to be dark green. Evelyn was wearing a jumpsuit, as she didn't like dresses. "I like them all," I say. Mandi looks at me and smiles. "I have good taste in dresses, don't I?" She smiles.

"The last one." I point and smile; it was definitely my favourite out of all the options. It was stunning. "Okay! I'll leave you to put it on; if you need any help, just shout me!" Mandi says and walks out of the bathroom, i grab the dress and start putting it on.

"I'm done!" I shout to Mandi, and she walks back into the room. She smiles when she comes in and walks back over to the closet, grabbing a few more things. "Okay, now you need to pick the mask you are wearing, then I will go and get the nail person. They are just doing Evelyn's nails at the moment." Mandi smiles and lays out the masks on the dresser in front of me.
