Nagulat si Ryle nang makita si Chanel na nakatayo sa harapan niya. A mixture of happiness and shock registered. Napansin niya ang pagbagsak ng katawan ng dalaga.
When Chanel requested Liway to leave them alone, Ryle was hesitant. Ayaw niyang iwan mag-isa si Liway, but he doesn't want to leave Chanel hanging. Dahil alam niyang understanding si Liway, he told her to leave first. Naupo sila ng Chanel sa isa sa mga nakalinyang stool.
"Chanel, how are you?" As soon as those words left Ryle's mouth, Chanel crumbled.
Humagulgol siya kaya nataranta si Ryle. He hugged Chanel as he soothe ber back. It took a while before she could calm herself.
"What happened? Why are you crying?"
"Kasi Ryle. . . I'm sorry." It took her a while to continue. "Bago ako pumunta sa France, napansin ko na ang daming nababago sa katawan ko. And then, before the shoot I found out I was three weeks. . ."
Kumunot ang noo ni Ryle nang hindi ituloy ni Chanel ang sasabihin niya. He whispered, "Chanel, you can tell me anything. It's alright. . . Everything will be alright."
"Ryle, buntis ako."
"W-What? Chanel. . ."
"I had an abortion in France." She's still crying. "Hindi ko kaya. . . Ayaw ko pa ng anak!"
"Oh, God, Chanel! Why didn't you tell me? Sinamahan sana kita. I could've been there for you."
Umiling si Chanel. "I don't want to burden you, Ryle."
"I thought you had an implant?"
Umiling si Chanel. "I had it taken out. I was on pills pero nakalimutan kong mag-take ng dalawang araw."
Ryle stared at her. "Sino. . ."
Chanel looked down. "You're the father, Ryle. Sa 'yo lang naman ako nakipag-sex noong hindi ako naka-take ng pills."
Ryle felt his heart slowly getting heavier. Pakiramdam niya ay may nawasak. He couldn't understand what he is feeling, but he doesn't like it.
"I'm sorry, Ryle," she moved and went on her knees. "I'm sorry for not telling you about our baby. I was so scared. . . Alam kong hindi ka handa sa gano'ng responsibility, and I'm not either. I made the decision both of us should be making."
Ryle stared into thin air. His mind is still processing about the child he could've had. It was a mixture of emotions. Hindi niya rin maintindihan ang sarili niya.
He pulled Chanel to stand up. "Chanel, what ever your decision was, it's your body and you don't need me to decide.
"But still—"
Ryle hugged her making her fall silent. "It's fine. Hush now, Chanel."
"I'm sorry."
"Not your fault. It'll be fine."
Tumayo sila at inalalayan ni Ryle si Chanel. They went to his car. Ryle did not see any trace of Liway so he decided to take Chanel home.
"Doon tayo sa condominium mo?" mahinahong tanong ni Ryle.
"Sure."
Ryle was gentle handling her. It seemed as if she was the most fragile thing. Chanel smiled as she felt his warm touch against her skin.
Pagdating nila sa condominium ng dalaga, nakaalalay pa rin si Ryle sa kaniya. She laid her down in her sofa and kissed her forehead. He sat just beside her.
"I'll make you lunch. Ano'ng gusto mong kainin?"
"Anything is fine, Ryle. You don't have to do this."
