*Wynter's Pov!*
I finished getting ready in a matter of minutes, so I used the rest of that time to go out onto the pier. I stepped out, walking firmly onto the hot sand. I ran quickly as I soon felt wood against my feet. I found a nice spot where I then sat down, making sure not to ruin my dress. I then slowly dipped my feet in the water as I stared out at the crystal waves. Watching the water move back and push toward the shore. I closed my eyes, feeling the cool air against me. Stopping myself from jumping in.
Minutes passed as I felt colors rush through my closed eyes. I opened them to see McKenna walking toward me. "Nice dress!" She yelled, I smiled right back at her. "You too!" I shouted back as I stood up and waved around my dress. I then looked at her, scanning her outfit. She had on a blue t-shirt and overalls that were cut to be shorts. Her hair was up in space buns, with cute plant earrings . "I have wanted to wear this all year so far." She admitted as we started to walk towards the house.
While she started to go on and talk about her boyfriend I used that time to slip on some sandals. We made our way to the ice cream shop as she told me the things that had been happening with her before she moved from Wyoming. "It was way cooler there, and I'm surprised we stayed for so long." She went on about as I soon noticed the shop in the distance.
There stood a small blue building, with purple checker patterns. It looked like it had been recently painted, compared to last year. I looked inside to see our friends all gathered around the counter. Kenna and I rushed in as they all greeted us. We sat down next to Elias and Marley as they ordered. This place also had food and different types of burgers so most of them went all out.
But I just got some fries and an Oreo Milkshake. McKenna got the same thing as me, so we both took our fries and dumped them in a basket. We laughed as we began to talk about how messy Jason was eating. His face was covered, and liv was struggling to get it all off.
I then scanned over the room, looking at the colored walls and people that were talking. But I noticed that there wasn't any new guy around. I asked Marley but she disagreed as she pointed over to Darren. My jaw dropped as Kenna noticed my expression. "What?" She asked as she looked in his direction. "That must be the new guy." She said, Elias chiming in. "His name is Artemis." He pointed out as I sat there, still in shock.
There stood the guy from last night, talking with Charlotte and Darren. I was confused, and guilty. I wanted to go up to him, to apologize for last night. But once his eyes met mine, I found myself looking away, focusing on the conversation instead. But they must have noticed because Darren, Charlotte and the new guy all walked up to us.
"Hey Wynter." Darren greeted me as I hugged him. He then started to talk to Kenna, he knew I didn't talk much. So none of my friends forced me to, so I ended up keeping my eyes to the floor. But Charlotte just tapped my shoulder. I looked up at her golden eyes as I noticed Darren staring at her bright figure. "I love your dress Wyn." She said as she messed with the lace. "Thank you.." I said, she smiled at that. I looked back to Darren to find him still staring, I wanted to laugh. But I kept my composure as I soon noticed Artemis staring at me.
He looked mad, and I tried to speak but he just walked away and joined a guy named Ares. He has worked here for a long time, he was basically part of our group. But I tried to stay away from him. Behind those blond hair and blue eyes, he was a player. Every girl that wanted to keep their innocence stayed away from him. I was one of those girls, and so was the rest of my group.
I then felt eyes on me again to notice Ares giving me a small smirk. I rolled my eyes, so did Charlotte and Kenna. "I swear, he is such a player." Kenna rants as we both nod, as well as the rest of the girls. "He isn't that bad." Jason chimed in. "Yeah." Elias agreed. "Right, he's the bachelor." Marley said sarcastically, Liv and Kenna laughed.
But then Jason stood up, looking out the window at a sign. "Hell yes, guys look." He said as we looked over. It read 'Volleyball game at 5:00, you need about 5 players for each side.' It was currently 4:45. "Let's play guys." Ares suggested and Elias nodded. "Yeah, let's play." Marley agreed and next thing I know we were walking outside, onto the beach.
