Percabeth Part 2

Chapter 2

Percy

"Honey! Have you seen my left combat boot?" I yelled running through the house looking for it. Annabeth appeared from around the corner with Zoe on her hip. "Ask your son" she said with a smirk. I frowned, "Why on earth-" I began. 

Charlie came running, clinging onto my leg like a monkey. "Hey there kiddo" I said leaning over and picking him up. "I don't want you to leave" he huffed. I chuckled looking over at Annabeth. She smiled wide before coming over to us. "Daddy will be back soon" she said putting a hand on my shoulder. 

I just grinned, "You know, if I don't go, how will I be able to pick up your new toys?". Charlie's eyes widened. "Toys!" screamed Zoe, throwing her arms up in the air with delight. "Thats right darling" said Annabeth, kissing Zoe's cheek. 

"But, if I don't go to work then I can't bring home the toys" I said raising my eyebrow. Charlie jumped out of my arms. "What are you doing? Go!" he cried as he began pushing on my legs trying to get me out the door. Annabeth laughed before setting down Zoe. 

"You better go" she said giving me a quick kiss on the cheek. I chuckled before grabbing her waist pulling her closer. Annabeth yelped and put her arms around me. "I love you" I said kissing her on the lips. "And I love you too" I said touching the small bump under her shirt. Annabeth held her stomach,  rubbing it softly. "We both love you" she said with a smile. "And your boot is in the microwave". 

I frowned, raising an eyebrow. I thought it better not to ask as I ran to the kitchen, grabbed my boot and headed out the door. 

Today was my first day since Leo's bacelor party fiasco that left me in a coma for a few weeks. If Annabeth had it her way, I'd never leave and apparently, so would Charlie. When I got to camp, I ran my meeting with Chiron. 

"So glad you could make it" Chiron said looking up from his newpaper. "Yeah, sorry I'm late, Charlie was hiding my gear" I said with a smile. Chiron just frowned, setting his newpaper down. "Hey, I'm sorry but what are ya going to do?" I said, confused. Chiron normally would have laughed but today something was different, something was off. 

"Percy, we have a problem" he said. I sighed "I told you Chrion, I am only here to teach. I'm not going on any more quests or into any wars. I just want to be with my family" I said, standing up about to leave. 

"Clarisse is dead" he said. I stopped in my tracks. "What?" I said turning to face him. "Her body was found on the West Coast by the hunters. They think it was used as some sort of message" he said softly. 

I leaned in closely, "Who else knows about this?" I asked quietly. "Just you, no one even knows about her death but a few" he paused "And you can't tell anyone, not even Annabeth". I shook my head. "No, I have to tell her. I'll make sure she doesn't tell anyone. She deserves to know, Clarisse was her friend" I urged. 

"We can't, besides, didn't she kidnap you and the boys, stabbed Frank, and put you in a coma?" Chiron asked. I rolled my eyes "We don't know her reasons, someone could have forced her hand, the same someone that killed her" I said. 

Chiron scoffed, "You always see the good in people, I am sending a troup to the West Coast to investigate. I urge you to go with or at least be ready to go if they find anything" he said. I sighed, "I need to talk this all over with Annabeth, I'm telling her everything" I said storming out without another word to Chiron. 

If there was one thing I did not want to do, it was get back into the business of risking my life, especially when I had another kid on the way.

Annabeth

"Mom!" yelled Charlie from upstairs. I groaned, rolling off the couch. I instantly felt nausous standing up. "Mommy!" cried Zoe from down the hall. "Charlie, come here if you want to talk to me" I yelled as I walked down the hall to Zoe's room. She had just woken up from her nap and was standing in her crib.
