CHAPTER SIXTEEN: START OF SOMETHING NEW II: TURON AND A KISS

nag-convoy silang dalawa paalis ng St. Andrew cemetery. hindi na mapuknat ang ngiti nya and out of the blue, kinikilig sya na hindi nya maintindihan. she mentally shake those thoughts off and focused on the road. baka madisgrasya pa sya ng wala sa oras sa nga iniisip nya.

huminto ang kotse ni Zai pagkalabas nila sa gates ng sementeryo. she did the same and see Zai walking towards her car.

she bit her lower lip. now that's one hell of walk right there. she's a trained Supermodel and she knew at first glance how hot someone's way of walking is. and Zai's gait is that one you see on the likes of those androgynous models of great caliber. if all mechanics are this hot--- then any gal out there would really want their hoods opened up.

she nearly bang her face on the steering wheel. how can she have these thoughts about the person who always gets her pissed-off puzzles her. She's really getting crazy. gracious.

kinatok nito ang bintana ng kotse nya at agad nya itong pinagbuksan. Zai look down on her and goddamn---those hazel eyes made her able to look away. oh jeez.

"yung Shelby Cobra mo, tapos ng ayusin ng mga kasama ko." wika nito. "you can visit the shop anytime to get your car. and, uhm--- dun na lang ulit natin pag-usapan ang tungkol sa ano... pag-aya mong kumain sa labas."

she giggled softly upon seeing Zai's face turn red. umayos ito ng tayo at halatang nahihiya sa huling sinabi nito kanina lang.

" okay, then." tugon naman nya, keeping a straight face despite the fact na gusto nyang matawa sa pulang-pulang mukha ng racer "I'll go to your shop tomorrow. will that be okay?"

"y-yeah, sure. up to you." anito sabay kamot sa ulo. and she finds it cute, really. "pero---sigurado ka ba talaga na gusto mong kumain sa labas... with me? I mean... people, the public rather, will see us. ayos lang sa 'yo ang ganun?"

she went mum after Zai that. may punto ito. there is a great tendency na madadamay ito sa pettiness ng mga bashers at haters nya. and there's the moth*fuc*ng paparazzis as well. Zai will be attacked, specially in social media. she has been in the public eye for so long that she knew how cruel those netizens can be. marami syang kilalang celebrities na kinitil ang sarili nilang buhay dahil sa sobrang sama ng loob sa mga ganung tao.

she now have doubts if ever Zai will change her mind. and she can't blame her. though she genuinely wanted to make amends with the racer, hindi nya ito mapipilit na sumama sa kanya. ayaw rin naman nya itong makaladkad sa mga issues nya sa buhay.

"so... h-hindi ka tutuloy, or sasama sa 'kin if ever?" ang may pangamba nyang tanong dito.

"hindi sa ganun. I'll still go out with you. kakain lang naman tayo, nothing else." tugon nito. "what I really meant is you. are you really okay being seen with me? you're a celebrity. it might, you know---damage your reputation if you'll be seen with a lesbian like me."

nakahinga sya ng maluwang na pumayag ito. but what Zai said next caught her off-guard. but then, immediately---she shut it out. ayaw nyang mag-alangan ito sa kanya.

"I may be straight but I've always been supportive of the LGBT community. so you need not worry about what they're going to say." she said, giving Zai an assuring smile. "I'm fine with it. at isa pa, ako yung nagyayang lumabas. it's okay."

Zai nodded and smiled at her, too. now she's the one who's turning red on her face. goodness.

"well, that's cool. see you then." Zai said. "I'll go ahead. see ya."

"see you, too. ingat." aniya. Zai gave her a thumbs-up saka ito bumalik sa kotse nito at umalis. She's all smiles after that, until something ruined the moment.
