You had simply been sitting on the edge of the boat, peacefully enjoying the ocean breeze when it happened. Perhaps it was a bit reckless to be doing that in the first place, but you just wanted to relax.
You weren't expecting to fall in.
You had tried to stand up to return to the main deck to be with Kazuha-you had asked her to grab you a drink-when your foot slipped and you tripped off of the edge.
You felt a stinging sensation on your foot, but you ignored it and attempted to swim up to the surface. You aren't the best swimmer, but you managed to make it. You were so shocked when you went under, however, that, shortly after, you fell unconscious.
It was to your luck that Kazuha heard your scream when you fell, seeing as she came just in time to see you faint and begin to go back under.
She didn't hesitate to rip off her jacket and dive into the water after you. Fear and panic were coursing through her veins. She swam as quickly as she could, and when she reached where you were, she went underwater to pull you back up to the surface. Once she did that, she hastily swam back to the boat.
When she reached the boat ledge, she hoisted your body back up, and then did the same to her own.
After taking a few deep breaths, she was immediately by your side and performing CPR on you. She was panting heavily as she did so. Tears were blurring her vision and a sob slipped past her lips.
"Come on, princess, wake up. Please!" She cried. Her body shook as she continued.
Eventually, you opened your mouth and coughed out the water you had consumed. Your breathing was heavy as you looked around, before your eyes landed on Kazuha.
The latter was quick to pull you into her arms, cradling your head against her chest and holding you tightly.
"Thank God! I thought I was going to lose you. I love you, I love you. So much," she cried, gently rocking the two of you back and forth.
You cried in her embrace, your body trembling. You were still in shock due to what happened; you almost couldn't believe it. But more than anything, you were overwhelmingly relieved that Kazuha had come when she did, or else things could have turned out much worse.
"I love- I-I love you too," you whispered. "I love you."
She pressed several kisses to the crown of your head, before reaching over to grab her previously discarded jacket and wrapping you in it.
