"On my mark." Arondir said to Sorin with only his hand and his friend nodded readying up his bow. They both could hear the Orcs barge into the tower and Sorin looked through one of the cracks, he could tell how desperate they were to find them. Sorin could see Adar walk up to the statue of Sauron and he turned away to look at Arondir then swallowed nervously not wanting to mess up his aim. "Can't find tooth nor tail of him. Must've got smart and scarpered." An Orc notified Adar then Arondir inhaled through his nose. "No...The Elf's here." Adar said to his Orc soldier. "I smell him." He also said now in Black Speech.Arondir then stood up and aimed his arrow to an Orc from across. He released his arrow and Sorin aimed to the biggest Orc he saw, his arrow landing right into its eye. This gave Arondir enough time to light up his arrow and aimed to the rope of the tower which gave Sorin his cue to jump off the tower.
He grabbed two arrows from his bag and pulled the string of his bow then aimed towards the Orcs running to the doors as they hear their lord order them to abandon the now falling tower. The arrows land right on their chest making them fall back and he began to run as Arondir landed in front of the door. He hurriedly hit the chain that led to closing the doors and he ran to where Sorin was.
They both stood at the end, watching as the tower descended and Sorin felt a bit of relief knowing they brought down a good amount of Orcs. He inhaled deeply through his nose and Arondir looked at him, he lightly squeezed his shoulder and Sorin looked at him.
"Let's make haste to the village." He said to Arondir who nodded.
They both hurriedly ran through the woods and could see the village just a few feet away. Both made it safely to the people and they all felt relief flow through their veins seeing the two elves alive. Sorin went ahead with the plan by going with Bronwyn and creating some small bottles filled with some powder from crystals that could explode if hit by a flaming arrow.
Arondir worked on destroying the key/sword Theo had given him and the rest of the villagers worked on doing their parts. As night began to turn to day, a little bit of hope filled the villagers and Arondir, but Sorin had been focused on thinking any possible outcome with every decision that was made.
Bronwyn noticed how tense Sorin was and how quiet he had been, so she decided to speak up as he set a bottle to the basket. "Something troubles you. It could help you to speak about it." She pointed out to him and he shook his head staring at the hill from afar, lying to himself that any moment Galadriel and Alora would appear with an army of Elves. But they were not there, he was alone and had to motivate himself to keep the people alive. Only problem was with that is that he had no motivation on protecting himself, he believed that dying in the place of those who were innocent, was an honorable thing to do.
