"Sorin!" Alora called out for her friend as he readied his horse in the stables and he turned his head seeing her at the door. A beaming smile appeared on his face and she walked over to him holding two cups. "You should be out there enjoying the lights." He said as he walked to her and she handed a cup to him, he takes it smelling the cup and knew it was wine. "You know that we will miss you." She mentioned as he took a swig of the wine and nodded. "I know you will...Because I will miss you too.""It seems like the world keeps wanting to take everything from me." He added which made her feel awful for having to leave to go back home and him to leave for the Southlands. "In the years we have been together, I always saw you as my blood. Even if I'm half-elf, you have always made me feel whole." He recalled to her and a smile appeared on her face. "This isn't really goodbye, Sorin." She said barely above a whisper and he cupped her face with his free hand. "I know...I know. We will see each other again to say hello." He said as she felt a knot in her throat. "Hello again." She repeated and he nodded then moved his hand away and instead pulled her in for an embrace.
He would miss her.
"If I had wings, I would fly everywhere you go. If you'd have me." He said with a chuckle and she nodded resting her nose on his shoulder, inhaling his scent to never forget it. "It would be an honor to have you fly for me." She responded closing her eyes and he caressed the back of her head trying to avoid ruining the flowers in her braids. "It's funny, isn't it?" He pondered as they pulled away and she looked at him confused. "What is?" She questioned as he took another swig of his wine and gestured around with his ring and pinky finger that held his cup. "That we are immortal, yet we can't do the simplest thing..." Sorin then looked to her and shrugged.
"Enjoy the time we were given." He finished his sentence and smiled at her then playfully pinched her nose with his free hand.
"I think you'll be the one I miss the most. Everyone else is just-"
"Do not lie to me, Sorin. Your heart will ache for Elrond's wise words and Galadriel's free-spiritedness." Alora cut him off and he chuckled nodding."I guess I'll miss that, but not as much as you, princess." He pointed out to her and finished his wine with one last swig. "Now, go enjoy the lights. And don't you dare look back." He ordered jestingly, lightly gesturing to the door and she sighed nodding, flashing him one last smile. She turned around and began to walk to the door, remembering his words of not turning back and she bit the inside of her cheek as she reached the door.
She stopped in her tracks and set the cup on the ground then spun on her heel only to run into Sorin's chest. He held her close feeling as if she would become dust in any moment and she held the back of his shirt tightly.
"I told you not to look back." He joked which made her chuckle. "I know, but I had to make a grand departure." She said inhaling a sharp breath and he rested his cheek on the top of her head. "Never change, Alora. Always be the light in everyone's presence, never settle for less...Never change." He advised her. "I promise, I promise I won't." She responded which warmed his heart and they both pulled away once again.
