"Then, how many would they need?" Alora asked the other lords as they held their meeting and they pulled out one of their maps setting it neatly on the table in front of her. "Let us be sure of having strong armor, I do not want to send our people with thinly protected armor." She notified one lord and looked to the map, her finger grazing the parts they had highlighted for her."My princess." A voice called for her from the main doors and she picked up her head looking towards that direction. "Yes, come. What news do you have?" She asked the maiden who stood in front of the door. "You wished for me to find you if Finrod were to leave. He's preparing the other elves for his quest." She notified her and Alora nodded then looked to the lords with sincerity. "I apologize, my lords. I must be excused." She apologized to them and they nodded which led her to quickly walk out of the room.
She hurriedly went to the front of their home and she sees Finrod helping his soldiers ready their packs. She picked up her white dress slightly to not trip over as she went down the steps and Finrod could feel her presence, not to mention the sound of silver on her dress made him look towards her direction. He then excused himself from his group and met Alora halfway. Both stopped in front of each other, inches away, and she inhaled a sharp breath looking up to him.
"You are leaving already. So soon?" She asked him with sad eyes and he nodded. "I vowed to bring down The Dark One. I intend to fulfill that vow, my princess." He answered which made her sigh and he could tell she was nervous for him to leave, so he grabbed her hand and looked down at it. "That is not the vow I thought I'd be hearing from you." She lowered her voice and he lightly chuckled looking into her eyes while smiling. "I will return for the ceremony. Then we will announce our marriage and you will finally hear the vows you want to hear. And the vows I desperately want to say." He said trying to reassure her, but that was not working for Alora. "Then let me go with you. I can lead the archers. I know how to fight, please." She whispered, begging to help him in his journey and the thought of having Alora get hurt when he knew could have prevented it, it would tear him apart.
"You have to stay. Your light is much needed by your grace and the other elves." He reminded her then cupped her face and tears welled up in her eyes, not wanting to let go of his hand. "I...I can fight, Finrod. Please, let me." She pleaded, but he knew the princess had to stay. "I know, I know that you are a much better fighter than I and that is why you must stay here. You protect our home and prevent any harm from it." He pointed out to her and she closed her eyes in defeat as tears rolled down her cheeks. "Alora, my heart. You have to stay here and protect Galadriel. If we are both gone, she will never stop hurting." He added then leaned his forehead on hers, closing his eyes and inhaling deeply not wanting to forget her touch or smell.
"Come back to me alive, Finrod."
"As you wish, my princess."Alora opened her eyes feeling like she was falling too deeply into her dreams and looked around to see a storm up ahead. Galadriel who still fixing parts of the raft and she stood up to stretch her legs. She looked down to her empty hand remembering how it felt to hold Finrod's hand, so she held her own hand and turned to see Halbrand staring at her.
