"Hi momma" I whisper smiling with my phone to my ear "hi, baby" she whispers then coughs making me frown "are you okay?" She hums "just a small cold, my dear. How is filming? When will it be done? I want to watch it"

I laugh softly "it's so amazing, momma. Dylan is really great to work with and Taylor is so sweet. We're halfway through so you can watch it soon"

She hums and takes a deep breath "I miss you, my girl" she whispers making me smile "I miss you too, momma. I promise as soon as I'm done filming then I'll come home and we can watch it together"

"That sounds amazing" she whispers then coughs again making me frown again "are you sure you're alright? I can come-"

"No no. No, I'm alright. This is important to you. Everyone will love it"

I smile and take a deep breath "mom, can I ask you something?" I whisper and she hums "of course"

"You remember, Rudy, right? Drew's friend"

She hums again "the blonde boy. Yeah"

"Something happened between us and I don't know how I feel about it because he's in a relationship and he wanted to break up with her and I feel terrible about it" I breathe out and she chuckles softly.

"You know, when me and your father met... I was dating his friend, and that's how we met. But then we just couldn't stay away from each other. I felt like crap about it and broke up with my boyfriend and after a while, your father broke up with his girlfriend"

"And then you started dating?" I ask with a small smile "oh, no. I felt terrible so I moved away... but when I came back after a year. He was waiting for me. We were so utterly in love, my dear. Nothing can stop love and if Rudy is the right one, then don't let anyone stop you"

I smile nodding "but how will I know if he's the right one?"

"You'll know, my dear" she whispers softly and I smile looking down "but what if I also like someone else, but he's older. Older than Drew was"

She chuckles at me "that Dylan boy?" I nod smiling "he's really sweet to me and so is Rudy. I just feel so confused, momma"

"You know what you need to do?" She asks and I bring my knees to my chest "what, momma?" I ask and she hums "try them both out" she says making me laugh and she laughs softly.

"Mom!"

"What?! Sweetie, you won't know who's the right one if you don't.. expand your horizons" I chuckle softly "and by expand you mean date two boys at once"

"Exactly, my dear. You won't know who is the right one if you don't try them both. Anyone can be sweet my dear, but not for long." I nod slightly and breathe out "I'll think about it, momma"

I look up as Rudy walks back to the table with our coffees and food "I have to go, but I'll talk to you later. I love you"

".. I love you, my girl. Remember that" I smile looking down "always. Love you, momma" I whisper before hanging up.

Rudy sits down while smiling at me "who was it?" I breathe out, putting my phone down "my mom" he nods a little while staring at me.

I take a deep breath and take a sip of my iced frappe, putting my feet down on the ground and leaning on the table while looking at him.

He smiles and also leans on the table "uh.. so..." he trails off and looks down. I tilt my head slightly "so?" I ask and he breathes out "me and Elaine broke up"

I frown slightly and look down before at him "Rudy-"

"Be- before you say anything" he gently holds my hands "she broke up with me" I breathe out "she did?" He nods a little with a small smile and breathes in "she said that someone told her about us... and I know there isn't an us, but she got mad at dumped me"

My eyebrows furrow slightly "you think it was one of the girls?" He shrugs a little "I don't care. But whoever did. I'm glad they did" he whispers looking between my eyes and I feel my heart start to beat faster.

"I just... I feel like this is happening so fast" he sits up shaking his head "we can take it slow. However slow you want"

I smile a little at him "I'm just... I'm really confused about my feelings right now and what I want." I whisper and he sighs "confused about Dylan" he says nodding slightly.

"And you" I whisper with a small smile "I know I have feeling for you and... and for Dylan. I'm just... trying to sort them out, right now" I look down at our hands while playing with his fingers.

"I'm sorry" I whisper and he shakes his head "don't be. It's okay. I get it. This is your first project and Dylan is... he's a good guy, who has been good to you"

I gulp and look at him "and so have you"

I breathe out and chuckle lightly "my mom said something really crazy, and I don't know what I should do about it" I say and he looks at me "what did she say?" I groan quietly while looking back at him, shyly.

"She thinks I should... date you both and, I don't know... see how I feel. It's really crazy"

"I don't think it is" he says making me look at him with furrowed eyebrows and a small scoff "Rudy-"

"So, it's like a competition for you love?" He smiles and I laugh softly at him "not exactly. It's so I can... figure out my feelings for the both of you. It's not a competition"

He hums with a smile making me smile "what did he say about this?" I shrug a little "I haven't told him. I'll talk to him tomorrow, anyways" he nods a little and I let go of his hands, grabbing my sandwich and taking a bite out of it.

"I just feel bad that I'm the reason you and Elaine-" he cuts me off "no. Don't, feel bad. It's on me. It's my feelings and you're not responsible for how I feel, Serenity."

I frown slightly and look at him "if we do... if something happens with us... would you do that to me?" I ask quietly with a frown and he shakes his head, holding my hands again "no. I promise you... I'm not gonna treat you how Drew did"

I nod a little and smile slightly "take it slow?" I ask and he nods with a smile "take it slow, but not too slow cause I'm winning" I laugh at him and shake my head "it's not a competition!"

"Sure. Sure... but I'll still win"
