God and I

Forever

As He lives eternally
Forever I am His
Called me out of the darkness
Where I dwelled in ignorance
I basked in sin and all evil
I loved my ways
How I adored my foolishness
But He called me out
Without resentment.
Convicted not condemned.

He fought the battles ahead of me
Led the way clearing the path
So I never stumble though I tire
He woke me up with day's light
Watched in nights darkness
As I slept under the moon.
He became my friend, father and guide
And I am the home He dwells in

I fight to keep it holy
The temple of His.
Never easy to be different
When view from the outside
Forever tempting
But He called to be His
And I answered
Now forever I am His
