A Friend

You have been the greatest friend
You have calmed my storms
Listened to my cries
Comforted me in sorrow
Made my dreams come true
Heard me when I prayed
Protected me against all evil
Healed my ailments
A Father, A friend, A saviour
And everything
In between
Yet I never ask after You

How is the day dear God?
To rise the world
As it rotates around the sun
It must be a great deal
Of work
Like clock work
You work in ways predicted
By science
Once in a while You act differently
Thus becomes a phenomena.
How  has the day ended?
With cries and sorrows
Of those who lost
A precious thing or two
Weary and tired
They all put it on You
Do You ever feel lonely as I do
When You need a friend
Who do You talk to ?
As You conversed with
Abraham, Enoch and Moses
How is it You do not converse
With me?
But then I never bothered to ask

How lonely it must be for You
It seems You do befriend
As You loved John
You must want friendship with me
How lonely it must be
To have me by Your side
And I forever talk
About myself
Asking and asking
Never giving anything at all
I always think of you as a friend
Just now I have considered
Maybe You also need a friend
