God and I

What do You See?

When I feel smallest and unseen
Do You see me?
As I try to grow taller
When the world is too big
I cannot fill it's space
Can you hear me
When I ask why You bought me here
Why You thought it was good
When I took my first breath
For I see no good I have done

When I fear failure and loneliness
Do You know this?
When I have no spirit to fight
Another day
Wishing I would crawl
Into a dark hole and hide
The world and it's dwellers
Are too cruel for my heart
Yet You put me here
In their midst
You thought it was good
Yet I see no good I have done

So I ask
Are You there when I need a friend?
When my heart is dying
Before my body?
My mind is broken while
My bones are together?
When I hide from the heavens
For I feel I shame them?
Do You see what Your beautiful
World has done to me?
When it has left me
Scarred for life
