Montego Bay | St. James|
Friday, December 30,2022 (5pm)

The journey to Montego Bay was much longer than I would have preferred. We had to make two stops along the way, once in Ocho Rios and again in Falmouth, to stretch our legs and take a break. However, the ride itself was far from dull. Zaire and I engaged in nonstop conversation throughout the journey, keeping each other entertained. Meanwhile, Liam and Asia followed behind us in their own car, as they were joining Liam's family for the holidays, while Zaire and I were headed to his family's place.

"I'm a little nervous about meeting your family. If they're anything like mine, we might be in for a rough New Year," I admitted, voicing my concerns.

"Stop worrying, love. I already told them you're coming with me and I promise they will love you," he reassured.

Zaire and I were still not on good terms. Ever since the incident a few days ago, our communication had been on and off, and the tension between us remained. Personally, I believed it was important to address the issue, but Zaire stubbornly avoided any discussion.

On Monday morning, when I woke up, I was surprised to find Liam's presence in the house. How he had arrived there was still a mystery to me. The fact that he was there only added to the existing tension, as I sensed it was somehow connected to what had transpired with Isiah, an issue that nobody had filled me in on yet. Zaire and Liam engaged in lengthy, silent conversations, further heightening my curiosity and the strain in the atmosphere. Eventually, Liam approached me, offering a hug and bidding farewell before leaving.

A few days later, my brother sat me down and had a talk with me before I left. He didn't spill all the details, but he made it clear that if anything bad happened and I felt unsafe, I should call him right away. I tried prying for more information, but he kept quiet about the whole situation.

In the evening, we reached his family house, and I have to admit, I was really impressed. I already knew his family house was likely to be impressive, but it went beyond what I had expected.

Zaire picked up the bags and made his way up to his room, and I followed closely behind, admiring the lavish surroundings of the house. Christmas decorations adorned every corner, creating a festive atmosphere. Interestingly, we didn't encounter anyone on our way to his room; in fact, the house felt deserted.
