In the morning when I woke up, Zaire was in the room with me, lying on the small couch and covering his face with his hand. I didn't pay much attention to him and went to find Dimitri across the hall, asking him to show me our room.

After taking a shower, I decided to dress decent because Dimitri mentioned that his family members would be arriving throughout the day to prepare for tonight. He also mentioned that his aunts are very judgmental like his mom, so he wanted to give me a heads up about them, which I found thoughtful.

Wish my man took the initiative to warn me about his shrew of a mother before I came here...

As I was applying perfume, the door unexpectedly swung open and the devil himself walked into the room. He came closer and went to give me a kiss on my cheek, causing me to instinctively lean back slightly. His movement froze as he stared at me, but I didn't pay much attention and instead chose to discreetly observe him from the corner of my eye. He mumbled a "good morning" greeting before heading towards the bathroom, while I continued with my makeup routine.

I really wish he would be honest with me about whatever is going on so we can navigate through it. We're supposed to be enjoying the honeymoon phase of our relationship, but it feels more like we're engaged in a battle due to external factors affecting us.

I settled onto the bed and immersed myself in the content on my phone screen. As I scrolled through various messages and posts, I was momentarily interrupted by his reappearance. There he stood, clad only in his underwear. He went digging into his bag then got dressed and grabbed his car keys.

"I need to go into town to take care of something for my dad. Would you like to come along, or would you prefer to stay here with Dimitri?" he asked, standing at the foot of the bed.

I pondered for a moment... Did I really want to accompany him? Or would I rather be stuck here for an uncertain amount of time with his self-centered family members?

The former.

I rose from the bed and grabbed a hoodie from the bag, then stood waiting for him to lead the way. I don't feel like engaging in conversation with him. If he can't trust me enough to discuss the issues that are affecting us and our relationship, why bother wasting my words?

"Yuh could a seh yah come eno but mi nah beg yuh fi talk to me," he said and I rolled my eyes in response. I know he was getting irritated with my attitude but it's tactic, annoy him enough for him to just give up and tell me what's happening.

He turned and exited through the door, and I trailed behind him. As we descended the steps, there were several individuals in the house who observed us intently. Zaire greeted everyone while I lingered near the doorway, feeling somewhat out of place. Then I noticed Dimitri waving me over, so I approached him and stood by his side.
