Eddie's POV:

I wake up to the sound of something metal bouncing around in the kitchen. I jump up and run into the kitchen to see Christopher standing there, with flour all over the place and a metal bowl on the floor. Chris' eyes are threatening with tears as he looks angry and upset. I run over to him and pull him into a tight hug.

Eddie: Hey, hey it's okay buddy. We can clean it up. What happened here?

Christopher: NO DAD! IT'S NOT OKAY! He sniffles. I just wanted to make you and Buck some pancakes.

Eddie: Hey, Chris, look at me. He looks up at me. We can clean this up and I'll tell you what. Why don't we go and make pancakes together, for all of us, yeah?

Christopher: His smile comes back onto his face. Yeah, I like that idea dad.

Eddie: Alright let's do this then.

Christopher and I clean up the mess together and make some chocolate chip pancakes. It was Chris' choice, since they are his favorite. Little does he know they're also Buck's favorite as well. I'll let Buck tell Christopher though. I let Christopher get some glasses and pour some orange juice into them. I am finishing setting the place when I hear a low groan coming from my bedroom. "Seems like Buck is awake Dad" Christopher lets out a laugh and practically pushes me out of the kitchen. I walk into the room to see a very tired looking Buck sitting up on the bed.

Buck's POV:

I wake up to see Eddie's room. That's right, I'm out of the hospital. I look up to try and find my crutches. I try to move to grab them and there is an immediate pain shooting up my leg. Ok, ouch that hurts. It didn't hurt this bad before so why is it bad now? That isn't fair. My thoughts are broken as I hear Eddie's voice speak up.

Eddie: Good morning sunshine! He gives me a small smile and I just glare back.

Buck: Mornin' Eddie. I groan out in pain. God Damn, my leg is killing me.

Eddie: Alright hold on a sec, he starts walking around the room, I put the pain meds your doctor prescribed you somewhere... He goes towards the dresser. AHA!

Buck: Aha? Did you find them?

Eddie: No Buck... I didn't. He pauses, Of course I did, why else would I say 'AHA'?

Buck: ...Good point.

Eddie: So how did you sleep?

Buck: Like shit, the pain mixed in with the nightmares. It feels like I got no sleep last night.

Eddie Gives me the pain meds and a bottle of water to help me take them. I sit down for a few seconds, closing my eyes from the pain. When I open my eyes back up, I open up to the sight of Eddie just staring at me with a smile on his face. I sit there and stare back, holding eye contact with each other. Our gazes are broken when we hear a small laugh coming from down the hall followed by the sound of Christopher's crutches coming down the hall.

Christopher: Daddddd, Buckkkkk, come on, you both are taking forever. He lets out a small laugh. Good morning, Buck!

Buck: Hey good morning, buddy! Sorry I just got distracted, I needed some pain meds for this leg.

Christopher: Well, hurry your slow butt up. Me and dad have a surprise for you.

Buck: A surprise?? I give my best spoiled look. I feel so honored.

Eddie: Alright your royal highness let's get you up. He goes and grabs my crutches handing me to them.

Buck: Thank you, you kind sir. I give off my best British accent, which I nailed. I try to get up and use the crutches, but it just hurts too much, I fall back down on the bed. Owwww

Eddie: Hey uh Christopher why don't you go wait for us out in the kitchen we will be there in a minute.

Chris leaves the room and Eddie runs over to me as I am laying on the bed in pain. Eddie looks at me worried, filling his eyes.

Buck: Eddie, I'm okay I promise. I think I just moved wrong.

Eddie: Buck, you don't seem okay. You seem like you're really hurt.

Buck: Eddie I'm-

Eddie: Nope, you should stay off that leg as much as possible.

And with that Eddie goes and picks me up bridal style... again. God damn, my heart can't take much more of that. I move my face so Eddie can't see the blush that's growing on my face. I could get used to this. Eddie gently sets me down in the dining room and the sight before me is amazing.

The table in front of me has a huge stack of chocolate chip pancakes in front of me, my favorite. Then there were three plates set out, each accompanied by a glass of orange juice.

Eddie's POV:

I watch as Buck's face lights up at the sight before him. I can't help but just smile at him, and the way he is acting, almost childlike in a way. It was honestly adorable. Then there was Christopher sitting across from a huge smile on his face as he looked at Buck. Those two are my world and I will never let anything happen to them.

Buck: Awww you guys didn't have to do this.

Eddie: It wasn't my idea it was all Christopher's.

Buck: Well, thank you Chris, these look amazing.

Chris: You're welcome, Buck. I just wanted you to feel more at home.

Buck: Don't worry, this place already does feel like home.

I can't help but smile at that. I also can't help but think about Buck living here permanently, building a family with him. Okay Eddie, that is enough of those thoughts. Stop it! I push those thoughts to the back of my mind and take a seat next to Chris, across from Buck.

Eddie: I hope you enjoy the meal, Buck.

Buck: Well, I should! Chocolate Chip pancakes are my favorite. He sits up nice and tall to show just how proud he is.

Christopher: REALLY!? They're also my favorite Buck!

Buck: Awesome! He throws his hand up in the air to celebrate making Chris laugh.

Eddie: Alright your royal highness dig in.

Buck: I shall indeed, He laughs a little to himself, Look at us! Eating breakfast like a family!

Like a family? With Buck here it feels like my family is complete. Seeing him and Chris interact is heartwarming to me. I love watching those two together. Even if me and Buck are forever friends, right now my heart feels complete with him. These feelings for him are getting stronger. Maybe I should tell him. No no no, Eddie, do you really want to ruin your friendship? No, let him heal first. Maybe I should talk to Bobby about it. Yeah, I will do that tomorrow when I have my shift.
