Eddie's POV:

I left the house looking back behind me smiling as I got into my truck. Eventually I made my way to the station, with traffic being... you know traffic. I walk in to the smell of Bobby's cooking and the sound of laughter from upstairs. I go to the changing room and get on my uniform making my way upstairs. Everyone was there, besides Buck, and I was greeted with waves and smiles. We all get around to talking and catching up then... the alarm blares and we make our way down to the engine.

We were responding to a fire call that came in, not too far from the station. It was small and easy to take care of, but there was one problem; this fire was no accident. Athena had met us down here explaining that this fire was deliberately made by someone.

Eddie: So we have an arsonist?

Athena: Yeah, just be careful, I don't have a lead yet.

Bobby: Alright, we will keep you updated.

T.K.: Odd, I haven't actually seen the work of an arsonist yet.

Hen: California tends to like having them. Once even a fire captain a long time ago. She chuckles.

T.K.: Holy-

I looked around investigating the damage of the fire when I saw two bystanders. One looked fairly familiar. It then hit me, it was Jesse Bakers and some other man. I pointed it out to the crew and Chimney felt uneasy as he remembered the night when Jee was born. We all make our way back to the station, and I decide to message Buck.

Eddie: Hey Buck, just to give you a heads up it seems like it will be a busy day so I will try my best to respond.

Buck: Okay! I love you and be safe.

Time Skip to Later

Today has been busy with fire after fire, along with happening to see Jesse and this mysterious man at each one. This arsonist is really having fun, I sigh as we start making our way down to the next fire. I noticed the address looked oddly familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. The ride was quite beside the sound of the siren screaming, and the air was thick with uneasiness.

Buck's POV:

Me and Christopher are having a lot of fun at the park. We started with the swings then Christopher went off to continue playing. Chris is having a blast and so am I. After about an hour the heat of LA was starting to show, and Christopher was getting hot and tired of the heat already. I smiled at him as it was time to put the next part of our day into action. We begin making our way back to the house and about halfway I decide to let Chris know what we are doing next.

Buck: So Christopher, where do you think we are going next?

Christopher: Home... He seemed sad.

Buck: Wrong... we are going to the beach! I looked through the mirror as his smile grew and he clapped his hands from excitement.

We arrived back home and began packing our stuff for the beach, our swimsuits... Check. Picnic supplies... Check. Food... Check. Beach toys... Check. Alright I think I have everything. We load back up into my jeep and begin our way down to the beach, us jamming out to songs the whole way there. We arrived at the beach, thankfully it wasn't too busy. After getting set up in a good spot, me and Christopher decided to make a sandcastle together, which turned out amazing if I might add.

I took a picture and sent it to Eddie with a heart emoji attached to it. I watched as Chris went to play in the ocean. That kid impressed me, after the tsunami, I couldn't bring myself that deep. I really only can go a little below my ankles before I start to get a little freaked out. Thankfully Chris knows to not go very deep, he mostly just enjoys sitting down where the water is really shallow and playing there. I smile watching him having fun, splashing, giggling and laughing. I know Chris isn't my son, but it still feels like he is. I've watched him grow up into the young boy he is today, and I couldn't be prouder.

I got a warning on my phone, something about keeping an eye out for an arsonist. Already got 2 deaths on their head. I sigh, glad I'm not working to deal with that, and rather to get to be with Christopher. The only thing to make this feel better is if Eddie was here. I hope he stays safe with all these fires and everything. I caught myself getting lost in thought when I shook myself back to reality. I look up and can't find Chris anywhere. I jumped up, my heart racing, looking around for him and calling his name. I lost Chris again, what if he got caught in a current, what if someone nagged him? I can't find him.

Buck: CHRISTOPHER! I run and I run looking for him, my head starts spinning as I still can't find him.

I messed it all up, my mind was up in the clouds again and now I lost him. What will Eddie do? I need to find him anyway possible.
