Ji Xing and Han Ting quickly signed the contract. The payment was divided into four installments, to be disbursed at four specific intervals.
The first installment was 5 million yuan, and it arrived in Ji Xing's account on the morning of the second day after signing the contract. Ji Xing was surprised at how efficient and decisive Han Ting was in handling things, without any delay or hesitation.
The first thing she did with the investment was to order equipment. Over the past month and a half, she had researched dozens of 3D printer manufacturers both domestically and internationally, and after considering factors such as price and performance, she ultimately chose a newly established company in Nanjing that had developed a printer that was comparable in performance to foreign manufacturers but cost nearly half the price.
However, the other party found her order too small and ignored her. When she finally managed to contact them, they said that the available stock of equipment was insufficient because they only produced in large quantities. If she wanted it, she would have to wait two to three months.
How could she wait for two or three months?
Ji Xing used all her flattery skills to persuade them and finally managed to get a chance to see the equipment in person. After putting down the phone, she felt both excited and frustrated, in a complex mood.
The night before her departure, while she was packing, Li Li sent her a text message asking, "It's Shao Yichen's birthday tomorrow, are you two going to spend it alone or with friends?"
Ji Xing was taken aback, suddenly realizing that it was already late March and that tomorrow was Shao Yichen's birthday.
Although she had been busy these days, the two of them had been in contact every day. However, Shao Yichen had not contacted her today. Looking at the time, it was almost midnight.
Ji Xing suddenly felt guilty and wanted to send him a message, but she was afraid of revealing the fact that she had forgotten his birthday all day. So she waited for a few minutes, and as soon as it passed midnight, she immediately called him.
"Hello?" He picked up quickly as if he was also waiting.
"Happy Birthday, Shao Yichen." Her voice was cheerful and coquettish.
He laughed softly on the other end of the line, looking happy and a little embarrassed.
"What's your birthday wish? Let this little fairy fulfill it for you."
He thought about it seriously and said, "I wish for Xing'er to do well."
Ji Xing was taken aback, her heart pierced by something soft. She said softly, "Anything else? Don't just make it about me."
"Anything else? Then I hope we both are healthy and happy always."
"Your wish will come true." She hesitated for a few seconds before changing her tone to a negotiating one. "Yichen, I'm going to Nanjing tomorrow to meet with the equipment manufacturer. But I can come back in time. Can we cut the cake together when I come back?"
"Sure." He asked, "When do you arrive at the airport? I'll pick you up."
"10:30 pm!"
"Okay."
The next morning, Ji Xing took the earliest flight to Nanjing.
The sales representative of the other company received her and took her to see the equipment. The workers demonstrated the operation of the equipment while Ji Xing carefully checked the machine parameters, followed the workers to observe the demonstration, and confirmed that this was the equipment she wanted.
