Lan Zhan sat alone in the Library Pavillion. He was busy reading a book. Wei Ying was outside and climbed the tree that reached the window near Lan Zhan. He held on to the window sill and made himself known to the airbender.

Wei Ying waved his hand.

"Lan Zhan, I'm back! How have you been without me copying scriptures with you? You miss me?" He asked the airbender.

"Leave." Lan Zhan simply said this without looking at him.

"If I don't, will you throw me down?" Wei Ying tested with a grin.

Lan Zhan then slammed the book he was reading shut.

"Don't be so scary! Aren't we already friends? I'm just here to give you presents." Wei Ying said.

"No need," Lan Zhan replied.

"You really don't want them?" Wei Ying got himself closer, the smile still on his face.

Lan Zhan made no reply. He was actually curious but didn't want to show it to the waterbender.

Wei Ying reached into his robes and took out two rabbits. One was white, while the other was black. He was harshly grabbing both of their ears, the poor bunnies. Wei Ying then jumped over and landed inside, still carrying the rabbits.

"It's really quite weird here. There are no pheasants, but there are a lot of wild rabbits. They aren't even scared of people. Do you think some of these are from the cave under the cold springs? But they don't have any of the forehead ribbons, though." Wei Ying said as he petted them carefully in his arms. Then he pulled them up again by their ears, making them face Lan Zhan, who looked at them in surprise.

"So how about it? Fat, aren't they? You want them?" Wei Ying asked.

The rabbits wiggled their tiny pink noses and curiously looked at Lan Zhan. He said nothing as he stared at the two rabbits. Wei Ying's own nose wrinkled as the airbender gave him no reply.

"Fine, if you don't want them, then I'll give them to someone else. The food here has been too mild, anyway." He was preparing to leave through the window.

"Stop! To whom are you giving them?" Lan Zhan said

"Whoever's the best at roasting rabbits." Wei Ying grinned and answered.

"Killing is forbidden in the Cloud Recesses. It is the third rule on the wall." Lan Zhan stated

"Fine, I'll go down the mountain, kill them outside, and then bring them back to roast it. It's not like you want them, so why do you care so much about them?" Wei Ying said.

"Give them to me." Lan Zhan demanded it with a mild glare.

"You want them now? Look at you. You're always like this." Wei Ying stopped holding the rabbits by the ears and held them in his arms. Then gently put them down on the table.

Lan Zhan looked at them, saying nothing. They provided the rabbits with some cabbage to nibble on. The two rabbits hopped and walked around his table. Their paws get soaked in ink and make messy pawprints on the papers.

Wei Ying smiled as he sat at the table, looking at the rabbits.

"Lan Zhan!" he called.

"What?"

"Look at them, nibbling on the same leaf—they look like a pair, don't they?" Wei Ying said, looking closely at the rabbits.

"Both of these are male!" Lan Zhan exclaimed.

"Male? How befuddling." Wei Ying was surprised. He picked up the rabbits by their ears again and checked. "They really are male!" he said, putting them back down.
