Unfortunately for them, it did not go well at all. With heavy steps ascending the stairs, the three walked towards the Cloud Recesses Library Pavilion. The place where his punishment is to take place.

"Well, I'm sorry, Bro Wei." Nie Huisang apologized.

"Didn't you assure me that it would be fine?" Wei Ying crossed his arms, looking dissatisfied. Now his punishment was doubled after the attempted cheating they tried to pull during the exams.

"Who would've thought that Lan Zhan would intercept?" Nie Huisang replied.

"Anyway, look out for yourself." Jiang Cheng spoke to cut off whatever Wei Ying had to say. "The library pavilion is right ahead," he pointed.

And there it was—yet another glorious building in the Cloud Recesses. It stood in a different space, enclosed by taller mountains and lightly covered with mist. It was taller and bigger than the Orchid Room and was guided by a bridge as well, only it was made of wood. The path was delicately coated with petals and leaves from the surrounding white magnolia trees. The stairs were higher, and the entrance was less open. All three walked further and stopped at the top of the stairs near the entrance.

"It's just some copying. Huaisang..." Wei Ying sighed and then smirked as he remembered the offer.

"Old Man Lan said no one could help you copy." Nie Huisang quickly said

"How would he know if someone helped me copy?" Wei Ying looked annoyed as he pushed the doors open. He was not looking inside, as his eyes stayed on Jiang Cheng and Nie Huisang. "Send someone to supervise me?" he asked them.

"Exactly," Jiang Cheng answered.

"What did you say?" Wei Wuxian looked at him, shocked, and then noticed the younger waterbender's eyes were somewhat pointing to someone that was inside the room.

Wei Ying finally glanced inside the library. His currently mauve eyes could see through the gaps in the shelves and caught sight of a familiar silhouette dressed in white robes. Lan Wangji was the supervisor of his punishment. He sat at a table perfectly aligned with the wide, open window in a circular shape. The view of Cloud Recesses was even more breath-taking from there. Wei Wuxian's eyes were fixed on Lan Wangji, who was copying and reading from a book entitled Righteousness. Their eyes met once again. Despite the fact that their eyes have already met so many times, Wei Ying finds it difficult to look away from such uniquely golden orbs.

"Lan Zhan?" Wei Ying voiced his disbelief. A bit of uncertainty crept into his entire being.

He was scared he would get murdered if it was Lan Zhan who supervised him. The two from outside left him at the mercy of the cold and stoic Second Jade.

"You guys..." he tried to call out, but the two were now long gone. Wei Ying sighed, frustrated and a bit betrayed that they had easily left him. "He's so silent, yet Old Man Lan wants me to sit with him for a month. What an agony for me," he whispered, walking closer to his awaited punishment.

Wei Ying plopped himself down to sit in front of Lan Zhan. The other resumed writing as if Wei Ying had not just very ungracefully sat in front of him, not saying anything to the other.

"Bro Wangji, here's a question. Do you really hate me?" Wei Ying leaned himself on the table and asked eagerly, waiting for an instant reply. However, Lan Zhan continued to ignore his presence.

"Still ignoring me!" Wei Ying exclaimed, then thought of taking a different approach. While Lan Zhan continued to stroke the ink-filled brush, Wei Ying made his fingertips walk close to the Second Jade. "What should I call you to get a response?"

Standing up, he went behind Lan Zhan.

"Wangji? Lan Wangji? Lan Zhan!" This somehow made the second Jade stop stroking his brush. Finally, it caught his attention. Wei Ying thought it was a good sign. He might finally get her to talk and not be so silent.
