Hi everyone! Looks like I'm going to be posting chapters more frequently!

Enjoy~

*Dan's pov*

Yesterday was Magnus's Birthday. The day. . . The day that the Birthday had gone wrong. A bleeding nose, tears, violence. It was disastrous. But we made up for it. We celebrated and had fun. The most fun I've had in a long time. Riot got plenty of footage of us (for future blackmail, and the sake of memories.) But I can't help but wonder: what if it's me? What if I'm doing something wrong? Magnus has been acting a bit weird, recently. Maybe he just needs the time and space to process our mutual feelings. Yeah, I'm sure that's it. I'm just jumping to conclusions. I'm strolling through the corridors, trying to get lost on purpose. A familiar sight snaps me out of my irrational thoughts.

"Oh hey. Kurin?" It was a rare sight to see Kurin without Aay, they were practically inseparable. Kurin without Aay is like a Yin without its Yang, like a Teacher without students like-

"Hey Dan. . ." I doubted he would respond at all. There's something wrong. His eyes were dull. His mouth was in a tight line.

"What's up?" I ask

He replies: "Umm, it's nothing really," he shrugs nonchalantly "Just got some. . . News." His voice cracks.

"Hey, hey Kurin," I approach him and place a hand on his shoulder, "Tell me what's wrong." I look up, to meet his cerulean eyes. He inhales sharply, and his expression transforms.

"Aay said he wants to break up with me." Kurin explained. Tears spilt out of the corner of his eyes. He hurried his face in his hands, using his hands as a shield from the world. I throw my arms around him in an embrace. He returns it. I bury my chin into his neck. With my right hand, I stroke his head. In the corner of my eye, I could've sworn I saw something. I blink, it's gone.

"That's terrible news. I'm so sorry. . ." I say, attempting to console him

Kurin cries; "I don't even know what I did!"Kurin manages to say through his violent sobs."He said it out of nowhere, without any explanation. He never loved me. I-it was all in my head!"

I step back and detangle myself from the embrace.

"Look at me, Kurin." He removes his hands from his face and looks up. I place my hands on his shoulder.

"Aay loves you. He truly does. I've seen it in the way he looks at you. The way he smiles when he's with you. Those things aren't something you can fake. He loves you, with all his heart. He would do anything to see you smile. I know it. I'm sure there's a reason he would say something like that. I can go talk to him if you like?"

Kurin wipes his tears away with his sleeve.

"Yeah," he says, his breathing finally returning to normal "That would be good."

I nod and we share a grin. I wrap my arm around his shoulder, as we begin to walk.

"So, what happened?" I ask

"Well, I woke up this morning. You know, did my usual routine. Then Aay asked me to sit down with h and said he had something important to say. I sat down with him, and he said he wanted to break up with me. . . Of course, I found it hard to believe. I said I needed time to think, to get my head around it."

"Huh. Wonder why he said that." I muse

"It's a mystery to me." He says and shrugs

"Oh hey, Kurin, Dan! Where's A-" I widen my eyes in alarm, raise my finger to my throat and draw it across in a line. Riot covers it up with a greatly faked sneeze.
