*Dan's pov*
The thunderous whirring of the helicopters can be heard in the distance. A ship horn honks, alerting the faculty of its arrival. It'll take another three days for all the students to arrive, and the next school year is gonna be slightly delayed because the academy burned down, and we had to move to a new location. And, we're going to host a funeral for Masato, to honour his tragic death. They'll discuss what impact it has on the academy, and blah blah blah. Rumour has it that they'll replace Masato, but we'll never know. I observe the scene from my desk, clicking and unclicking the pen. I turn back, to ensure Magnus is alright. He has one leg dangling from the bed, and he completely disposed of the blanket.
His right arm rests above his head. I leap up from the chair and press the palm of my hand against Magnus's forehead. His eyes were tinted scarlet, and his cheeks rosy. I rush to the bathroom and, rinse the cloth under water. I rush back d press the cloth against his forehead. I couldn't find Magnus yesterday, and when I did, it was late at night and he entered our doom. Yellow light seeped in through the corridor. He attempted to be as silent as possible, to allow me to sleep peacefully. He shut the door behind him cautiously. I usually sleep through anything, but I felt something was wrong. Magnus came back, looking disoriented.
He was clutching his head as if it were a wound, and occasionally wincing before he collapsed on the bed. He ended up snoring within two seconds. I threw my bedsheets aside and wasted no time checking up on him. He was fine at first, but about an hour later he was burning up. Magnus has had this fever for an hour. Magnus starts shivering, so I remove the cloth. I pick up the discarded blanket and cover him with it. He snatches the blanket and wraps it around himself before turning on his side to face away from me. A loud knock originates from the door. I frantically crave down, to press my lips against Magnus's forehead before answering the door. I pull the door open gingerly, I could be checking up on Magnus, rather than answering whoever has the nerve to interrupt me taking care of my edgy, stoic future boyfriend.
I become giddy at the thought.
"Yeah?"
A familiar face with a bob, red glasses and a suitcase appears before me.
"Hey Dan! I was wondering, could you show the new students around the school? 'Kay, thanks!Bye!" The door slams shut in my face.
"I-" I exhale. Guess I have the duty of looking after these new kids. Great. Before I meet them, I have something to do. I grab Magnus's phone. Fortunately, you only need a thumbprint. I use Magnus's thumb to unlock it. I'm in! I scroll until I find his camera. I hold the phone away from me, to capture as much of myself as I can. I use it to take a goofy picture of me. Once I'm happy, I press the button and the camera shutters simultaneously as the light flashes. I grin in satisfaction. I upload it as Magnus's wallpaper, and return the phone to its place. A nice surprise for Magnus. I stroll out of the room and shut the door cautiously. I meet the faculty in their meeting room.
I like my head through the open door and state: "Uh, I'm here to guide the new kids?" Kravitz pushes her chair back, scraping against the floor. She stands up.
"It would be unfair to give you a large group of kids. So, you have the responsibility of two."Kravitz informs
"Say hello to some of our new students, the future of V.I.L.E!" Philomena states
A girl with sapphire blue eyes, fair skin and ginger hair braided into a plait, with side bangs swept to the side. Her braid, dangling on the side, with a cerulean bow to keep it in place gives me a small wave.
A boy, whose amber streaks of hair and amber eyes which contrast with his midnight black hair are his most compelling features, smiles.
"Hi! I'm Dan Kouzo!"
"Jenny Hackett!"
"Ajit."
The girl named Jenny Hackett is dressed in a pale blue jacket with a collar, and the sleeves rolled up. Underneath, she wears a white shirt. And matching pale blue jeans to go with it. She wears a plain black belt. Her trousers are slightly above her ankles, and her trainers match her bow. Ajit wears a pale tan coloured t-shirt with yellow and dark red stripes and zips on both sides. He also wears dark green capris trousers with yellow stripes and yellow, grey and white sneakers. He also wears a dog tag necklace.
"So, it looks like I'll be showing you around."

*Magnus's pov*
My eyes flutter open. Immediately, I throw the blanket and throw off the cloth. My sleep was disturbed by unpleasant thoughts, but I just don't remember what they were. . . Where did the cloth come from? I wipe the sweat trickling down from the side of my forehead. Dan must have done something about my fever. Did he notice I came back late? Goosebumps arise on my arms. I pick up the blanket and use it to cover me. I don't want to close my eyes. Because when I do, all the horrid memories come flooding back.
Images of Kurin and Dan flirting flash through my mind. The blanket is warm and inviting, my eyelids feel heavy despite having slept for most of the day. I feel like succumbing to sleep, but I don't want the memories to come back. All the things I wish didn't happen. I didn't even want to sleep last night, the memories haunt me.
Yet here I am, the sleep is calling me. . .
