"Your eyes... it's like staring into shining stars..."

POV: Third Person

A young girl sat alone in the playground of her elementary school. Her long purple hair covered her face as she drew around an insect with a discarded stick she had found previously in the playground. It was the only way she wouldn't draw attention to herself. As she poked and prodded closer to the small bug, who seemed to not be in complete understanding of what was going on. As it moved to scurry away, the girl would block its way with the stick, causing it to change course in a feeble attempt to get away. The process seemed to be endless as the girl was drowning out the world. That was, until a small ball landed near her, which seemed to break her trance. The insect, seizing its opportunity, ran away from the young girl. Fleeing to the safety of the grass.

A pair of footsteps could be heard running towards her. A kid with blonde hair was making his way towards the girl, who just sat there, not making any movements, even though she was over her initial surprise. The ball, which the boy seemed to have his sights set on, landed only a few meters away from her. The boy bent down to pick up the ball. Though as he was about to stand back up and start running back to the other kids, he looked up and noticed the young girl. His (E/C) eyes meeting hers, as her own purple eyes. He paused, as he stared at her eyes. Sure, the eyes were an unusual color, one he had never seen before, though that was not what drew the boy in.

The sparkling eyes did.

POV: ???

This kid... was staring at me. My eyes met the (E/C) eyes which seemed frozen in shock. There it was again... Another one looking at my cursed eyes. Would he call me a freak like my mother? Or ignore me like the rest of the kids? I saw him shake his head and let out a smile. Why was he smiling? Did he find my eyes funny? The boy raised his arm as if to throw the ball, which he did. My eyes watched the ball fly through the air and land in the mit of another kid. Who proceeded to throw it to another.

Though, he did not leave as I expected him to after that, instead he sat down next to me, smiling still.

"Hey there, what are you doing here by yourself, shouldn't you be playing with your friends?"

Friends... He was wondering where my friends were, that had to be it. I stared at him as his smile never left his face. I just had his answer to his question and he would leave me be.

"I don't have any... I prefer to be alone anyway..."

Lies. The most powerful weapon of all. I use it on an almost daily basis. It was a way to protect myself from others, who would try and use my real self to hurt me.

"Oh... I see. Well, I wouldn't mind being your Friend. My name's (Y/n) (L/n), what's yours?"

Why was he still trying to talk to me? I thought my first response would chase him off, maybe if I just scare him, he'll go away... I looked him dead in the eyes, put on the creepiest smile I could, as I felt my eyes go dim.

"Trust me, you don't want to be my friend... No one ever does..."

That should do it... That chased most people off. Though, what surprised me was that his hands cupped mine as he kept on smiling. I was put on the backfoot as he didn't seem to be turned off by my comment, in fact, it seemed like he was more determined.

"Well then, why don't we change that. Together."

I felt my face flush as I was lost for words, I shifted in place, as I felt my eyes go back to normal. His invitation was so... inviting. As if there was a shining light just within reach... All I have to do is reach for it.

"Ai..."

I muttered as he looked at me confused for a second as he looked confused, even more obvious by the tilt of his head.
