Chapter Thirty-One: Questions

Aqua sighed as he readjusted the collar of his sweater. Ai was beaming up at her son as she hopped up and down uncontrollably.

"Ohhh. Look at my baby boy! All grown up going to his first cast party~"

"Mother… It's not that big of a deal."

She shook her head. As he backed away from the mirror preparing to leave.

"Well, to me it is, don't try to sour my mood!"

Aqua rolled his eyes at his mother who had put on a nice dress, which confused Aqua.

"Why are you dressed up anyway? You got something tonight."

Ai giggled as she put her fingers to her lips, her signature devilish smirk on her face. Aqua's face took on a look of dread as he knew what that look meant. Ai was about to make his night a living hell.

"You've got a plus one don't ya?"

Kana sighed as she readjusted the bow in her hair. She was using her phone's camera as a mirror. She was flushed red as she brushed some of her hair out of her face. She was nervous as she took a few deep breaths. She was waiting for Aqua to meet her so the pair could go to the wrap up party for the cast of Sweet Today.

She found it annoying it had to be the night after the first day of school, but there was no helping it now. She didn't know why she was so nervous. Why did she get so dressed up, even for something like this, she was in a fancy dress not formal wear...

Kana was so deep though, she had failed to notice two pairs of footsteps approaching her. The two figures approached her, but her eyes were closed by this point and had drowned out the world around her.

"Hello~ Hey, is anyone there?"

Kana opened her eyes at the voice and when she did she saw two purple eyes looking into her crimson ones. She recoiled and finally took a look at the person who was in front of her.

It was Ai.

"A-Ai What are you-"

Kana seemed in shock before she noticed Aqua a pace behind the Ex-Idol. Her mouth agape. Ai found this all very amusing, giggling to herself as Aqua sighed. Grabbing Ai by the shoulder and pulling her back from Kana to give the actress some breathing room, which she desperately needed.

"Ai…"

Ai seemed unfazed by her son's tone, which was as if he was giving her a warning. But who was the parent here? Not him, that was for sure, he had no power over her!

"So Aqua, is this your date?"

"D-Date. No… I mean… well…"

Kana turned red as she rubbed her thighs together. Looking at Aqua, who seemed unfazed by his mother's comment but pinched the bridge of his nose.

"I knew it was a mistake to let you come."

"I liven the party, everything would be boring without my radiating aura!"

Aqua stayed silent as he began to walk towards the restaurant leaving Ai and Kana there as the two girls watched him leave. Ai just stared at her son  pouting.

"So rude… I should have a talk with him later…"

Ai said as she began to walk in towards the restaurant, Kana seemed to recover her composure as she took a breath and began to follow the Hoshinos into the restaurant.

The three walked into the restaurant, the atmosphere was lively as people cheered, laughed, and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Ai's eyes scanned the coward, and she eventually spotted Kaburagi, she smiled and turned to the two teenagers.
