Chapter Thirty: New Enviroment

Chatter filled the courtyard, students were reconnecting with friend groups that had not met since before school ended. Students discussing the recent orientation for the first years. Aqua had little interest in such things. Though Ruby, the social butterfly of the two, looked around the courtyard, her star pupil twinkling.

"So performing arts, there's only class F?"

"Yep. Let's walk together while we can at least."

A pair of footsteps approached behind the pair, hidden by the sounds of conversation from the other students.

"Congrats on starting school here, Aqua."

The two twins turned toward the person who had spoken, it was Kana. Though as she was addressing Aqua first, Kana's eyes then turned towards Ruby, who she looked at blankly.

"...And Ruby..."

Kana said with such little enthusiasm that it caused Ruby to roll her eyes and scoffed at her upperclassmen.

"Here at Youtou Academy, the class schedule is much more flexible than in regular high schools. But you'll still have to repeat a year if you get failing marks or miss too many classes, and the curriculum itself isn't that different."

"Why are you telling us this anyway..? You know we were told all of this when we had our interview, right?"

Aqua said, looking at the red-headed girl who stood in front of him. She turned red as her mind raced to find an answer which wouldn't completely make her seem like some kind of fool. A smirk appeared on her face as she pointed at Ruby.

"W-Well, I was just reminding Ruby, I know that she can be... a bit dull... at times."

"Whatever you said, at least I don't eat baking soda..."

"Will you shut up about that!"

Kana quickly cleared her throat as she tried to calm herself, as her shouting had already caused some heads to turn in their direction.

"As I was saying..."

Kana then pointed her finger at a male student with short black hair and brown eyes.

"He's an actor!"

Her finger moved to point toward two girls, who looked on the younger side, at least compared to the two Hoshinos. Though they were still several years older than when Ai started her Idol work.

"Those two are members of an up-and-coming Idol group!"

Kana moved her finger to another girl, who had long light green hair and bright lime green eyes.

"That girl with the huge bust is a pin-up model."

Ruby suddenly elbowed her brother in the side, as she glared at him harshly. Aqua took in a sharp intake of breath and looked down at his sister.

"What the hell was that for?"

"Don't get any ideas..."

"What do you take me for, some kind of degenerate?"

Kana seemed to have little interest in the twin's bickering and continued to point out students who were in the entertainment industry.

"There's a voice actor and streamer. Oh and beside her is a fashion model and a singer. Over there on the bench is a kabuki performer and actress."

Kana seemed to be done listing the professions of her classmates and turned to the two twins, smiling at them.

"Everyone here is an entertainer~ Out of all the high schools in Japan, we have the most people who're in the spotlight. I'll give you a warm reception, my Juniors"
