Chapter Nine: New Beginnings

Ai was looking down at Aqua and Ruby, a smile present on her face. The two were sleeping peacefully. Ai was still really tired and (Y/n) was nowhere to be found. Yui just shrugged, not really knowing where he had gone, only knowing that he left about an hour before she woke up. Though as she looked at the door, there was no sign of (Y/n), something that began to worry her.

"Look at him, he's gone. I bet he's not coming back. Maybe you should have unwrapped your damn legs, slut."

No… he wouldn't leave her. He said he wouldn't… Right? What did she do wrong? Did he leave because she was screaming at him… That had to be it…

As she kept going on her self degrading rant in her mind, the door opened as (Y/n) walked in, holding a Tupperware container. He saw Ai awake and he looked at her, stunned.

"Oh shit… I'm sorry I thought I would be back before you woke up, I'm sorry."

He apologized, though Ai could care less. He was back, that was all that mattered to her.

"It's alright (Y/n)… What's that?"

She asked, pointing to the container. He smiled and set it on her lap, before gently picking up the twins, smiling.

"Why don't you take a look?"

He asked as he sat down next to Yui, who took Ruby from him, so he only had to hold Aqua. Though when Ai reached forward and opened the container, she immediately took in a smell that she recognized.

(Y/n)'s cooking.

"(Y/n) did you really go home and cook for me… you didn't have to…"

Ai said as she looked at him, tears welling up in her eyes. Sure she could get food from the hospital, but it wasn't nearly as good as (Y/n)'s cooking. Not only that, but it touched her heart that even though he was tired, as it was very early in the morning, around three am, he made her a meal.

"You're right, but you deserve a good meal, at the very least, you went through so much in these past few days."

Ai looked at the food, as she felt her mouth droll. Too bad it looked so good, because she was so hungry, it took everything she had to not devour it. She began to eat as she let out moans of satisfaction with each bite.

"I… Love… You…"

She said in between bites. Borderline shoveling the food into her mouth. (Y/n) chuckled as he watched his girlfriend devour his food.

"Do you mean you love me? Or is it just my cooking."

Ai shallowed another bite of food, though stopped as she put a finger to her chin before grinning mischievously.

"I'm not quite sure yet~"

"Typical."

Quiet laughter came from the two, being careful not to wake their twins as Yui just smiled in amusement looking down at Ruby. Who had woken up, despite her parents' quietness, though she was not crying and giggled at her grandmother.

Yui put her finger inside of Ruby's reach as she began to play with it, laughing as she did so.

"I'm so happy to be a grandmother."

(Y/n) sighed as he packed all of his things into a single small box. He didn't have much in his apartment due to the fact he only was staying here for four months, and he spent most of his time out of the house.

Ai and Yui were out in the car, with the Twins, he was excited to go home, as he had one more surprise for Ai, even though it did take a decent blow to his bank account.
