Chapter 29 - Odette ain't here
*****

Odette slowly pushed the front door open; only to be met with silence. How was this place ever meant to be considered 'home'?!

Taking a few steps inside, she saw the familiar mess of the place. The empty scrunched up beer cans, the broken whiskey and rum bottles, glass smashed into the floor.

The furniture was even more torn than she remembered.

"Dad?" Odette tried to call out but she got no response.

She figured he was passed out unconscious around here somewhere. Walking into the living room she saw the sofa cushions ripped up and tossed aside.

Yet no dad passed out.

Walking into the kitchen, she saw nothing but empty bottles and a few dirty syringes. Yet just as she grimaced, she heard a few thuds from upstairs.

Walking straight out the kitchen she headed for upstairs. It was only meant to be her bedroom and the bathroom upstairs, her dad rarely ever took a shower and had no need to go to her bedroom.

Yet as she opened the door to the bathroom, there laying unconscious on the floor was her dad. Though it was the blood coming from the side of his head that caught her attention.

The second she leant down to slowly check on him, a gloved hand and a cloth was slammed over her mouth as a muscular arm wrapped around her waist, locking her arms at her side.

"We still not talking about it?" Eyeball asked as he walked beside Ace towards the school.

"Nope." Ace spoke bluntly, keeping his gaze focused on the front entrance.

"Ace I really do think you need to talk to-" Billy tried to talk sense into him.

"What I need is for all of you to stop bugging me, so what? I broke up with a bird, happens all the time now fucking get over it." Ace seemed to snap his final sentence as he grabbed the front door of the school and swung it open.

The loud clang alerted most people around them as he went storming towards his classroom.

"$10 says he gives someone a detention within the first ten minutes." Fuzzy mumbled as they watched Ace storm off.

Eyeball quickly flung his hand out to smack Fuzzy's chest.

"What?! You can't tell me I'm wrong!" Fuzzy defended himself.
