Rain, Rain Go Away

The next morning it was raining again. Tuk was adamant about going out in the rain again, she wouldn't talk about anything else at breakfast. "Can we go? I wanna go!" Tuk kept pulling on her mother, edging her to go. "Tuk, eat your food." Neytiri with a calm demeanor would just redirect Tuk to her food. Tuk would pout and then eat a few bites while looking at her Mom, not taking her eyes off to see if maybe she was thinking about her proposal. Instead she wore a settled face and continued to eat as if a small child wasn't trying to stare at her so hard that she could ever so slightly might be able to read her mind.

You had your back to the door and you could feel the breeze hit, it was humid in your home, and having a cold breeze was nice. You thought you had the best spot in the circle, the humid air keeping you warm and a nice sea breeze sending a chill down your spine. You didn't know why but the wind gave you goosebumps that made your spine tense. You would occasionally look over your shoulder, expecting something there but there was never anything there. At least not at breakfast. "Lo'ak, stop picking off my plate." Kiri was swatting Lo'ak's hand away. "Lo'ak." Mr. Sully hadn't noticed but all breakfast Kiri had been guarding her food. But when he finally heard her speak up he put an end to his endeavors.

Everyone was silent, Neytiri was still eating and Tuk was still burning her agenda into her mother with her eyes while Kiri was finally eating relaxed next to you. Lo'ak was annoyed now and was stuck between his Dad and Neteyam. Neteyam was looking at his Dad waiting for him to turn and look at Neytiri and Tuk to elbow his brother. Lo'ak snarled at his brother as he was trying to bring his attention to his plate where he was slipping some of his food onto his plate. When Lo'ak noticed he rolled his eyes and ignored his brother. It was a regular breakfast with you smiling at the family's antics and a normal clean up with Lo'ak being the one now stuck with you.

You saw a golden opportunity as Lo'ak had his back turned. You reached forward and pinched him, he had been pinched so often he only flinched. He spun around  fast and you quickly moved to act as if you had done nothing wrong. He shoved a platter down in frustration, you knew he'd get you back, he always did. You both kept cleaning up and putting items away when it started raining harder. Something about that rough breeze sets your senses on guard. And when you looked back at the entrance again this time you found Tonwari at the door. At first you were the only one to notice as the others were busy with each other. "Mr. Sully." You spoke quietly as you moved across the hut to the rest of the group. "Neytiri." They both moved their sights to where you were looking. Neytiri looked at her mate quickly before standing up with him, before they went off she looked at both you and Neteyam. "Watch them."

Just like that they were off, you were left with the others with nothing to do but chores. Everyone was quiet and didn't move, it looked as though it was something serious and Tonwari had pointed out to sea. Even worse for you knowing Quaritch was close, you couldn't help but worry if he was closer now. You didn't move, you just stared outside until Tuk tugged your arm. "(Y/N)?" You snapped yourself out of your trance and drew your attention to Tuk. Still dazed, you just looked at her face. "Can we go dancing now?" If Quaritch was close you didn't want to be anywhere outside. Not now. "Maybe later Tuk." Maybe if things were safe, but you didn't know if they were, or if they ever would be again. You got your mind straight for a moment, if he was close your first priority was the Sullys.

"Come on Tuk, let's help Kiri with the dried threads." You moved her back to where her parents had just been. You sat her back down and picked up one of the left behind pieces. You continued where Neytiri had left off and quietly sat next to Kiri. "I think I heard something about a Tulkun." Your focus was all over the place, everything was in a daze. You could only think about Quaritch and how close he was. What he would do to you, to the Sullys. "I'm going to go get-" Your mind was so confused and scared you could barely tell what was happening around you and the wind. That wind something felt off in your body, your stomach was dropping, your mind wasn't just racing it was so light it felt like you were drowning. The only thought that kept you safe from fully losing your breath was the fact that right now you were here.
