Chapter 12

Friday January 20 2023

Today was pretty fun and eventful. Kind of. The interesting stuff happened today after school.

So, because of my sister's swim practice, I get to walk home from school every Wednesday. I usually walk with Emma, and then we separate at the park. Almost every time, Aiden also walks with us. He normally walks that way, but sort of just 'happens' to start walking at the same time as us. I also feel kind of awkward because of the whole me liking him. I think I mentioned that already. After Emma and I separate, I walk the same way as Aiden. That means I'm alone with him. We just walk for a bit and talk about random things every Wednesday. It's actually pretty fun. If I was boy crazy, I would be screaming and jumping at the fact I get to walk home with the person I like. Luckily, I'm not like that.

Now I can explain what happened today. So, my sister's swim practice got moved to today (It's usually on Saturday). That meant I got to walk home. At the end of the day, I was just talking to Emma. Somehow, we got into a conversation with John and Aiden. I don't even remember how it started. While we were talking, John said something about how he was going to walk home with Aiden today. That meant they might walk with us.

After school, the four of us ended up walking home together. We were just chatting like the normal people we are. Emma and I just randomly decided to do cartwheels on the path. I don't know why. Also, I was wearing a skirt. Not the best thing to wear while doing cartwheels. Especially when we were in the presence of John and Aiden. The two of them stood there the whole time. I have no idea why they didn't keep walking.

After that, Aiden decided to go hide behind a tree. Why? I don't know. He was in the most obvious spot ever. I decided to 'casually walk' around said tree. Then we all continued walking and talking. Then Emma had to go her separate way, meaning I was left alone with John and Aiden. Obviously, she laughed at me.

I was kind of awkward for obvious reasons. I have a long history with John, and I like Aiden. We ended up walking through the park because why not. Aiden and I were also throwing a pinecone at each other for whatever reason, while John attempted (and failed) to stop us. Eventually, I just yeeted it across the field. Aiden also stole John's backpack. I was nice and got it back for him, even though I hate John. For the rest of the walk, we just talked about random stuff. It ended up being kind of awkward for me. Once we got to the spot where Aiden and I usually separate, we all went three separate directions. It was kind of funny. While I was walking, I saw John behind me. I was really stupid and asked if he was following me, because he was going the other way before. He just said that he was going the same way as me because it was a faster way to his house.

While I walked home, I texted John. Don't ask why. I managed to convince him that he isn't a boring person.

Wednesday February 8 2023

Some very interesting stuff happened today! Allow me to recap. So I was sitting with Sky and doing an assignment. Then I look over at Emma and see her TALKING TO JOHN. By the way, Emma sits on the other side of the room. It looked like they were talking about something secret. I decided to eavesdrop because I felt like it. I heard her asking questions and stuff, but didn't really get the whole thing. I had a few guesses as to what was going on.

When we were getting ready for recess, Emma came up to me and said she had 'big news'. I thought I knew what it was, but I acted excited anyway. Then at recess she told me that John likes her. In my head, I was thinking "This isn't going to work out. Emma doesn't understand that John is a horrible person". I acted happy for her. Because I was. I am a supportive friend, unlike some people. Shortly after she told me, John and Aiden walked over to us. Lately, the four of us have kind of become a friend group. It's kind of funny. Then John and Emma started talking about how they liked each other. Aiden and I decided it would be funny to leave them alone, so we went and stood behind a tree, watching them. Eventually, we went back. Then Emma started openly talking about what happened and why she liked him. Honestly, it was really stupid (no offense, Emma, if you're reading this).

Just before the end of the day, John went to talk to Emma. Again. Clearly she is blind or something, because every time John wants to go and talk to her, he does the same thing. He walks over slowly with dreamy eyes staring at Emma. He looks really stupid. I notice it every time, but Emma is completely oblivious. I have to tell her or she won't notice.

I also kind of have updates on stuff with Aiden. Not huge updates (like I didn't tell him I liked him or anything). Today was the first time we walked home in two weeks. We mainly talked about what happened with Emma and John.

Thursday February 9 2023

After school today, I found out that Emma made a Wattpad account. She texted me, asking me to send her my profile link. Then I checked her profile and found the story she had started posting. I clicked on it out of curiosity. It was just a romance story that I think was based on her and John. She then confirmed that it's a story about them. She also included me in her story. I have a fake name and everything! I also learned that Emma had liked John for a while, but she denied her feelings or something because I hate him so much. Honestly, I'm not very sorry.
