Chapter 9

Tuesday June 14 2022

Today was quite chaotic. I literally had 3 different things to do at lunch. I had soccer practice, then I also had to go to the talent show rehearsals (for choir and ASL). Soccer practice was mandatory, so I went to that first. I had no idea we had a practice today, so I didn't have any of my stuff. That meant I had to play soccer in the boiling hot weather in my UNIFORM.

Luckily, soccer practice ended about two thirds through the lunch period. That meant I still had time to go to the talent show rehearsal.

Once I got to the gym, I peeked in to see if I saw anyone I knew. Eventually, Julia saw me and came over to talk to me. She said "The choir is taking forever to set up". That meant the choir was just about to start. I ran as fast as I could to the stage and jumped on instead of using the stairs. I got to my spot just in time. Then we just sang the two songs for the performance.

After that, I got a short break to watch other people rehearse and talk to my friends. Then ASL club practiced. I didn't mess up, thankfully. I actually remembered everything.

During talent show rehearsal, I was SCARED. Why? Because John was actually talking to me. Yes, ME. It was scary because he never talks to me. Maybe now that we have talked, he actually wants to socialize with me again.

After school was pretty eventful as well. We had a meeting at the park, but only Emma and I were there. Khloé and Theo came as well, even though they aren't part of the environmental organization. We didn't get any work done because they were there. I read them the journal entry from June 10. Theo said I should post it on Wattpad because it sounded like a story (and now it's actually on Wattpad). I said maybe to that idea. I would cut out names for obvious reasons. The four of us also went to a nearby convenience store. I also had a soccer game.

Thursday June 16 2022

Today was the talent show! After tons of rehearsals and skipping class, everyone finally performed. Overall, I think I did pretty well. 

The lunch period was very chaotic. At the start of lunch, Sky and I had to go change into our outfits for ASL in the bathroom. After that, we went down to the gym for rehearsal. When we got there, the dance team was practicing, so we went and sat down with Linda, Aiden, and John. This is how we were seated (yes, this is important):

That is how we were seated. Then Linda turned to me, and you know what she said? "Can we switch spots? I need to talk to Sky about something". Yeah right. I'm not stupid. She wanted me to sit next to John. I played dumb and agreed because I didn't want to start an argument. Then Aiden left while Linda and I switched seats.

I tried to talk with Linda, but she was like "I need to talk to Sky about something, how about you talk to John?"

Girl, NO!

Eventually, we switched back so I was sitting between Sky and Linda again. A little later, Linda asked if we could switch again. This time, I said "No. I know what you're doing". Then we got into a small argument. Eventually, John stood up and said "I know what you're doing as well". Then he left. Thank God.

Sky and I literally ended up doing nothing the entire time. Neither ASL or choir rehearsed. At least we got an excuse to skip class. Around I-Don't-Remember-What-Time o'clock, everyone else involved with the talent show came down to set up. Then classes and parents started coming.

During the show, I clapped so much that my hands turned red. I also did well in choir and ASL performance. There was also a barbecue after school. I also went to that. The choir performed there as well.

Tuesday June 22 2022

I literally just need to rant about something that happened in phys ed today.

So today we played Stones. It's this really dumb game that involves hula hoops, running, and beanbags. I don't know why a game like this exists, but it does. As always, our teacher split the class into two teams. I was stuck with Lucas on my team. I actually hate being on his team for things because he thinks he's the best at everything. Before the game started, I heard Lucas say to John and Nolan "Our team sucks". I didn't really care because our team did kind of suck. Then Nolan said "Well, we have Evelyn, she's pretty good". See? Nolan is actually NICE to me unlike every other guy in the class. What Lucas said after made me angry. "All she can do is run fast. She's really bad and can't catch a ball to save her life"

Thanks a lot, Lucas. I really appreciated that.

I still can't believe he said that. Stones has literally nothing to do with catching a ball, and the whole point of the game is to run fast. I am still really angry. After I told my friends about it, we spent most of lunch recess trash talking Lucas (Like the fact that he's so short).

Also, I played soccer against John and Aiden. And I BEAT both of them.

I feel so accomplished.

Author's Note: Chapter 9 is finally done! I started working on this over a month ago but never got to finish! After posting two chapters of my new story, I consulted my friends and they requested me to update this story. I hope you enjoyed reading this chapter!
