Chapter 19

Thursday April 13 2023

Today was the day. The day where I went to Sobeys with a bunch of boys. I learned from Aiden that I was the only girl going. Yeah. Anyway so school wasn't very eventful. It was just a normal day. I tried my best to avoid Aiden because of what happened yesterday. I was trying to be happy, but I was still depressed about what happened yesterday. We went out early at the end of the day so I played manhunt with Maya, Emma, Cora, and Laurie. Then the boys joined our game. By boys, I mean Aiden, Walter, Alan, and Lucas. During one of the games, Aiden was it. I literally stood not even 10 feet away from him, and he clearly saw me. For whatever reason, he didn't chase me. Weird. Anyway, it was like 25 degrees again so that was really fun. Yeah. Once the game ended, I went back to get my phone and my backpack because I wanted to leave right away. I then see Aiden walking over to me and asking who isn't it yet. We saw Emma trying to hide. We decided to go chase her because she wasn't it yet. We walked across the field together, which was kind of weird. The entire time I was thinking why he was even speaking to me. Yeah so we chased Emma. I didn't end up getting her because I had my heavy bag with me and I was holding my phone. Then we just both started running to get her again when she tried to hide. Then the bell rang. I already told my parents that I was going to Sobeys. I kind of lied and told them that my friends were going to be there. I told my mom that I was going. Then I see Aiden and all his friends huddling which was weird. He was like whispering something to them. By the way, the people that went were Aiden, John, Walter, Nolan, and Lucas. Also me. Aiden was asking if I was walking with them and stuff. I explained that I was going to kind of stay behind them until my mom and my sister drove by. After they passed, I caught up to them. I also saw Andrea biking. She told me that she saw the boys huddling and that she heard Aiden say my name. She also told me to tell her anything that happened. Then I just walked to Sobeys with them. I mainly talked to Aiden, John, and Walter. I'm not sure why. I looked in the group chat with my friends and saw some stuff. Khloé sent a video of Aiden and I talking and captioned it "the (insert ship name) ship has sailed 🚢 ". I showed it to Aiden because he should know if someone filmed him without his consent. Anyway, all my friends were saying that Aiden 'definitely likes' me. They didn't know that he already rejected me. 

Then when we got to the plaza, we went into McDonald's. I ordered the new lemon splash thing and an Oreo McFlurry because those are the best. Walter also scanned his McDonald's code from the app or whatever when I was ordering so he could get points from my order. Then I got my stuff. I felt really awkward, especially because all the tables at the place were for four or less people. All the boys but Aiden took a seat at a table in the middle (it fits 4 people). Then Aiden went and sat down and the long table with the high stools. I kind of just stood off to the side while drinking my lemon thing. Then Aiden saw and made me sit next to him. Yeah. All the boys were sitting at a table while Aiden and I sat together. I honestly thought that was really weird. So I just sat there next to him. He ordered twenty chicken nuggets and was trying to get me to have some, but I refused. Then I think someone spilled a drink or something at the other table, so they cleaned it and then moved to a different table. All the way across the place. That made the situation even more awkward. I was sitting at a table alone with the guy who rejected me 24 hours ago, while everyone else was on the other side of the McDonald's. We still kind of talked and stuff. I didn't want to completely ignore him because that would be rude. Yeah. Eventually Walter came and sat beside me. Aiden was on the end, then it was me then Walter. We were just talking. There wasn't really much to talk about. For a bit, Lucas was sitting across from us. One of the observations I made was that all the boys were being strangely nice to me. It was weird. During this, I was texting my friends constant updates. Then we left McDonald's and went to Sobeys. Lucas also left when we got there. We went into Sobeys. I didn't have plans to buy anything since I already spent $6 at McDonald's. We weren't there long. Then we left Sobeys and Nolan got picked up. That meant it was just me, Aiden, Walter, and John. Aiden said he would tell me after everyone left,. We ended up going back to McDonald's to hang out. It was a lot less crowded. We just went and sat down. I don't actually think anyone ordered anything. We could have gotten kicked out for loitering. We kind of just sat in silence while I texted my friends updates and argued with my mom to let me stay longer.
