Chapter 17

Wednesday April 5 2023

Today John and Emma had another one of their stupid dates at the park. It literally raining all day. At the end of the day, it was still pouring rain. Emma, John and I walked to the park in the pouring rain. My uniform got soaked. I was annoyed. When we got there, Emma wanted to have a race to the gazebo shelter thing in the park. Her and I were wearing rain boots. John was in running shoes. Anyway, I won the race. I'm just that good at running in rain boots. Hehe. Since it was raining, there was only one shelter, which is probably why Emma didn't try kicking me out. We all went to stand under there and put our bags down. We kind of just talked about random stuff. I was a third wheel, and it was honestly really boring. Maybe if I ever tell Aiden I like him, and he just happens to like me, we can have double dates or something. Also, Emma and John are finally public. They have been keeping their relationship a secret for a few months now and they finally told everyone. By everyone, I mean the class. The girl next to me was asking me how long I knew about it. I was honest and said "Since the day it happened" then she proceeded to say how John is stupid for dating his best friend's ex. I also think it's funny that John and Aiden are close friends, and same with Emma and I. Previously, I was kind of sort of in a relationship with John (I wouldn't really call it a relationship but whatever) and Emma dated Aiden for a week. Now Emma is dating John so based on this theory, I might have a chance with Aiden. Then people will say the same thing about AIDEN dating his best friend's ex. Anyway, so we just talked about life and stuff. John also told me that Aiden made code names for some of the girls in our class. And he chose the most random things. Like Emma is Wheels. He also told me that there's 'Cloud' who he doesn't know. He did tell me that he thinks it's me. Verrry interesting. I don't really care though. Besides, I doubt he ever talks about me that much. It was rainy, meaning it was cold. Again, stupid me forgot gloves so my hands were turning red again. I really wanted to go home but knew I couldn't miss anything so I stayed. I was actually supposed to walk home, but I was cold and wet so I just called my dad to pick me up. Emma and John walked home together. I texted Aiden to tell him that the two of them had another date at the park because he was very interested to see if they would ever do that again. He texted me back that he knew. I'm assuming he didn't come because it was raining. That's all that happened. Tomorrow I'm having a sleepover with Andrea, and we're going to the plaza after school.

Thursday April 6 2023

Today was plaza and sleepover day with Andrea. I think this was definitely a pretty fun day. So, I had to wake up 20 minutes earlier than usual because I was biking to school with Andrea. We planned on leaving at 8:30 so I had to be really for school early. I started packing for the sleepover because I had extra time. We biked to school and we were actually the first ones there! It was fun having no one else in the yard. We just hung around and talked. The entire day, I just wanted it to end. I was sooo excited for after school. Once the day finally ended, I was talking with Emma and she took Aiden's bag as a joke. Then he was like fighting us to get it back. Walter was also there because him and Aiden were walking to the plaza together. The same place Andrea and I were going. We biked and passed them really quickly. We also got there faster because we were on bikes. We went into Sobeys first. I'm not actually sure why. We just did. We went into the snack aisle to get some sleepover snacks. I got some Swedish Berries and Andrea got some chocolates. That was all we wanted to get, so we went and paid after wandering around the store for a bit. I was too scared to go to the checkout, so we resorted to self checkout. After we had scanned all the items, I had to search through my bag because I couldn't find my wallet. Btw, I was carrying almost $300. I found it and took out the money. Suddenly, I felt something hit my back. We had run into Andrea's older brother earlier, so my first thought was it was him trying to scare us. Then I turn around and see Aiden and Walter. Apparently it was Walter's idea to 'jumpscare' us. It didn't work. Then Aiden asked if we were going to McDonald's afterwards and we said yes. We had already planned to go there after to get food. Then we left. I secretly hoped we wouldn't run into them anymore. I don't mind hanging out with Aiden, but I hate Walter so much. I honestly don't know why they're friends. Then Andrea and I went to McDonald's. Andrea and I went into the McDonald's and went to order on the machine things. I was putting a Vanilla Iced Coffee (my fave) in the order when I hear "Oh, you're getting an iced coffee" I turn around and I see Aiden. Without Walter. He said that he ran away from Walter. After Andrea and I got our food, we were nice and asked Aiden and Walter if they wanted to sit with us(he eventually caught up to Aiden). Well, I asked Aiden. Then Andrea and I went to find a table for 4 people. It turned out that we had forgotten our drinks, so he got them for us. When we sat down, Aiden just 'happened' to take the seat right in front of me (facing me). What a coincidence, I know. Andrea had to sit facing Walter. Ha. Anyway, I ordered chicken nuggets and a Vanilla Iced Coffee. Andrea ordered chicken nuggets, a poutine, and some passion fruit drink. I got a few bites of her poutine. Also, I may or may not have stared at Aiden occasionally. Who knows, maybe he noticed that I was staring at him. We just sat and ate and talked. Walter kept going to get ketchup and put it all in a bag. Stupid. Then we packed up our stuff and went to Tim Hortons. Aiden and I brought our drinks because we hadn't finished them yet. He also ordered an Iced Coffee. A regular one. I stand by my statement that vanilla iced coffee is the best. We got 20 timbits at Tim Hortons and then Aiden joined the class FaceTime call. In Tim Hortons. Yes. Then he said he was at Tim Hortons and turned his camera so you could see me. And he told me to say hi. That was weird. Anyway, then he started showing me pictures of his cat. Then I started to notice that Andrea was getting bored. We left Tim Hortons a bit later, and then Andrea and I went back  to get our bikes from the bike racks. Aiden and Walter were following us because they wanted to steal our bikes. Aiden also stole my phone, which I didn't appreciate.. Then Walter left. I ended up giving Andrea $20 to buy stuff at the dollar store. Yeah. Then she went so I was alone with Aiden. Yeah. We just talked about random stuff. I also learned more info about who he likes. Apparently the person he was giving me those hints about was just someone he had "mixed feelings" about. Luckily, I know for sure it wasn't me because he found the name on the class list when I showed it to him, and my name wasn't on there. Apparently the person he likes is the one whose code name is "Cloud". Cloud. I remembered John saying that he thinks it's me. That means Aiden might like me. I AM GOING TO LOSE MY MIND IF HE ACTUALLY DOES! Yeah. I was trying to get him to tell me who it was and stuff, but it didn't work sadly. Now I know that this Cloud person likely isn't Laurie or Amber. Then Andrea came back. I decided to get her to buy the strawberry marshmallows that Aiden loves for bribery material. That meant she went back in the store to get them, so I was alone with Aiden. Again. Once Andrea got back with the marshmallows, I basically had to fight Aiden just to get him to take them. He didn't end up telling me anything, but I'm ready to start conducting an investigation.
