Chapter 20

I honestly wasn't expecting anything to happen today, but I was WRONG! When I got to school, I felt strange. Probably because I couldn't process that I was dating Aiden. Luckily, Khloé, Sky, and Theo seemed to be keeping their mouths shut about everything. At least that's what I thought. We went outside early, so I used that time to tell Aiden the plan. Andrea was at a concert last night, so I never got to tell her the news. I just told him that we were going to tell Andrea. Her and I had agreed to meet at one of the basketball nets, so I let him know that. Since there were 9 minutes until first recess started, I told him that he had nine minutes to mentally prepare himself. Then I went and walked with Sky. We were talking about the whole thing with Aiden from yesterday. Anyway, then she said "The class is going to be shocked. The introverted quiet girl is going out with the most extroverted guy in the class". I mean, she's not wrong. As much as Aiden tries to deny it, he's an extrovert. Soon, the bell rang so I went over to the basketball net like I was supposed to. It didn't take long for Andrea to get there. Then we were just waiting for Aiden. I see him still playing soccer or whatever on the pavement near us. He kind of looked over, and then started walking over. I watched him out of the corner of my eye, while I talked to Andrea. Finally, he came over. We just told her we were dating. Then she was like "I KNEW IT!" Then Aiden said he had to leave or else people would get suspicious. I can tell he doesn't want the entire class knowing yet. I started telling her about what happened yesterday and she was so happy for me. Then I went to rejoin my friends where they were sitting (the ones who knew about my bf). Amber and her 3 friends were playing volleyball right next to us btw. We just sat down and started chatting. Then, you know what Theo said? "So, you're dating Aiden, right?" I immediately shushed her, but it was too late. Amber and her friends heard and were staring at us. Then she was like "Wait, Evelyn and Aiden are dating?" I immediately got mad at Theo and then decided to make a run for it, with Sky right behind me. I literally thought I was going to die because now the gossip girlies knew about Aiden and I. Once recess ended, I went back inside. I was absolutely terrified.

During health, I heard Amber interrogating Aiden. It seemed they were still convinced he liked Maya, which is what everyone thought. Including me. It was just a very brief conversation. I just eavesdropped while working on my assignment (we're preparing for the health fair next month).

For mostly the rest of the day, nothing really happened. I was praying that people forgot about it. Once we had finished math, it was almost time to go out for recess. We didn't have a lot of time, so the teacher just let us eat our snack. Then Courtney (who sits next to me, and is one of the four that overheard Theo) turns to me and says "I know you're dating Aiden. I saw you two look at each other just now". To be fair, yes we did just look at each other. The thing is, I have a clear view of him across the classroom. I have a bad habit of looking around a room sometimes. I just HAPPENED to look in his direction, and I saw him look at me. Then Nolan (who sits on the other side of me) decided to jump in the conversation. They both started asking me if I was dating him. I didn't know what to say, so I just said nothing and put my head down. The Courtney was like "They are dating. She isn't denying it" I'll admit, that was a pretty dead giveaway. I am ashamed of myself. Then Alan decides to yell across the room to him. Yeah. Aiden sits on the exact other side of the room. He yelled "Aiden!! Are you and Evelyn dating?" Obviously, this got the entire class' attention. I don't exactly remember what happened after that, since I was just trying to tune everyone out. This ended up turning into an entire debate. I talked to Emma and she was like "It's funny. People think you and Aiden are dating". I was thinking to myself. Good. She thinks it's a joke. The whole reason I didn't tell Emma was because Aiden is her ex. I didn't want her judging me or anything, so that's why she wasn't the first person I told. Anyway, so Aiden started saying that the girl he liked was someone out of school. I knew it was a cover up (because I'm literally his girlfriend). Most people seemed to believe him? Then Sky told me that if I didn't want people bothering me, I just had to sound aggressive and tell them not to bother me. Apparently that would scare them. I decided I might do that. Then Courtney decided to keep harassing me. I told her we weren't dating, and she was like "Well why did Theo say it then?" Then Nolan said something and I was like "Can you not?" In a very aggressive and sassy(?) way. That seemed to shut him up. Maybe I should take Sky's advice more. After that, no one talked about it for the rest of the day. After school, Andrea and I went to Symposium(the 'nice breakfast place'). While I was there, I texted Aiden and sent him pics of the food. So yea. I didn't really care that I was eating French toast at 4:30 PM. IT WAS DELICIOUS. Then we went home soon after.

Later, I got a text from Julia. Basically, I decided to prank her a while ago because she didn't know my number. Then today she was trying to guess who I was and stuff. Like she was asking a bunch of random questions and stuff. One of them was "Are you dating someone?" I said yes without thinking. Soon after, she guessed it was me. Of course, she started asking who I was dating. I said that I couldn't say because it wasn't just my secret and stuff. Then she was like "I think it's Aiden". How the actual f did she guess it first try. That's actually crazy. The. She wanted to know who it was and wanted me to ask him. I just told Aiden that what happened and then he asked if I said we were dating. I said I didn't. Then he said "Good. I think she hates me" yeahhh. Anyway so then he had to go to bed, so I kept texting Julia. She was being really understanding and stuff for some reason. Especially about why I didn't want to tell her who it was. Soon, she went to FaceTime her boyfriend (fyi he's from another school and I don't know who it is). Yeah. That's all that happened. Now it's the weekend. I'm praying everyone forgets about what happened today. Bai~

Author's Note: I know these entries are so long. People tell me they don't feel like reading it all. I still write them anyway. I've been super stressed lately because HIGH SCHOOL. I didn't know picking courses was so complicated. And my mom wants me to do summer school. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this chapter. I'll try to update again soon.
